Sion's Passive

Can we please make a change to this passive and remove his ability to damage structures while dead? It's terrible game play to kill a champion, only to have him get right back up and double his attack speed on your nexus.

Bro, if it's at a point where Sion can die next to your open nexus, chances are the game is lost anyway. Also, you want to gut one of the few instances where his passive is actually useful? As a Sion main, I find the state of this thread deplorable

Jbels there is so much wrong with everything you just said, I don't think I can cover it all. Let me start off by saying you're silver 5, you don't have a 'main'. You should be focused on last hitting and learning all the roles. Secondly his passive is extremely useful. You will find once you progress out of silver that your team becomes smart enough to lay down CC when your passive goes off, allowing you to WRECK the enemy team. Much like anivias egg, or zacs goo however, dying alone 3v1, no it's not very useful. Lastly, and I can't stress this enough "THE GAME ISN'T OVER UNTIL IT'S OVER". I can't tell you how many games from gold to LCS I've seen turned around with a nexus fight win. I can promise you until that portion of your attitude changes, you will be silver for life. You enjoy playing a champion that literally comes back from death to keep on fighting, shouldn't you do the same?

Sion's passive made him win a game, which is one of the highest, rarest moments for a Sion player. Why should we remove that? It's not like his tower-pushing capability makes him OP or significantly changes how many games he wins.

He's actually an amazing tower killer. Also might I suggest ghost blade (You can use active during passive for move speed and attack speed boost).

He's pretty good at it for a tank, but nobody says "Alright, I need to win lane and shove down turrets. I'd better pick Sion!". That's Fiora's job.

  1. If we want rank to get in the way of an argument, you're Gold V and the only ranks that matter are Plat and higher.

  2. Wow, so I have to be a particular rank to main a champion? I guess there's no point to the mastery system! Seriously don't use rank in your argument.

  3. This is one of the strengths of his passive and it rewards players for smart decisions. A poor Sion will chase after the guy who killed him, ignoring any minions or objectives despite the fact that he won't catch him. A smart Sion player will focus on what's closest to him to use his passive to its best potential. This means taking CS, smashing towers, or (my personal favorite) ignoring the enemy as you focus their Nexus to end the game.

  1. In this world experience makes your opinion stronger than another persons. If you want to take out 'ranked' play, then I have double his games, and x10 your normal games. So I would say that makes my opinion a little more valid. I'd also say there is a world of difference between a gold player, and a silver player, however yes I have much to learn.

  2. You don't main a champion, you main a role. I.E. I main support. What's his plan if they ban sion, just quit? While everyone has a favorite spot to play, they should (especially in bronze/silver) worry about learning all the roles. While I was in his shoes I took the time to learn all the roles. I then found out that while I enjoyed picking jungle or adc. My performance was always more successful playing support, or mid. If you just jam yourself in a role, with champion xyz, you won't learn anything.

  3. So, we should let Karthus auto attack while dead? Why can't he kill the nexus?

Want to argue experience? Ok.

I have over 14 K upvotes. You have less than 150.

See how useless this comparison is in justifying my argument? That's how using rank to justify arguments (especially when you downright insult their ability) feels. Completely pointless and only done to show who has the bigger dick.

200 games, and 14k upvotes? So you don't really play LoL you just talk about it on a forum? Is this instagram? At no point did I insult his ability, all I did was state where he was ranked in the system that is provided to show such things. I then gave instructions as what players within that rank should focus on in order to improve.

200 damage to the nexus, which more than likely had a ward dropped there for a tp xpeke, is fucking over, this is an unneeded complaint

I've never seen such stupidity in one post. First, you're only Gold 5. You suck just as much as the rest of us, bragging about that makes you look as stupid as the sack of potatoes in my kitchen cupboard. Secondly, I wasn't aware you had to be a specific Rank to have a main. Thirdly, not every role is needed for ranked. 3-4 and with at least 4 champions you're comfortable with in those roles is good enough. Lastly, you got outplayed, plain and simple. They had a Reviver and used it to their advantage, instead of fighting you guys like a giant noob, he decided to end the game and secure his team's victory.

I like how you whine and insult me, while at the same time proving my point. You're silver 2, he's silver 5. You've discovered that in fact you don't have a main, you know 3-4 roles, with at least 4 champions. That's 12-16 champions, not a single main. Thank you for making my argument for me.

Catastrop2 votes

Someone doesn't grasp of the concept of, "I won't always be able to play my main in Ranked." They also don't grasp the concept of main even is. A main champion does not mean you play that champion and that champion alone. You play others but in general, it's the one champion who you can fall back on no matter what, one that defines your preferred playstyle and one you're completely comfortable when playing them in all situations. You however, seem to be confusing it with a concept called, one-trick pony'ing.

You don't have to be a higher rank to main a champion. I mained Mordekaiser for 2 and a half seasons before he was reworked. And I would rather be silver 5ever than do what a lot of you golds do, develop these complexes that having a shiny badge automatically gives you higher social status than everyone else. You and all of those golds should just go start your own forums since you love the sounds of your own voices so much.

Going back to Sion, I've played enough damn Sion to know that if he could actually kill your nexus, the game was fucking over. He can't 100 to 0 it, he can't 75 to zero it, he can't even 50 to 0 it! It was in the 45 or below range, and if you couldn't stop it from getting that low, and couldn't stop him from hitting it enough times to kill it, you deserved the loss. Enjoy being Gold, asshole.

wait so the unranked who's last played game was a custom and has nothing but aram games recently is bashing a silver V? lmao top kek. and if you claim you're "a smurf" post with a main account you coward.

So, what, you lost a game because Sion blew up your nexus after dying? And that's bad design?

I love that assumption. Actually I've been playing a lot of aram lately, and it seems to be a valid strategy for sion to just get tanky, stroll up to towards and hit them until he dies, then hit them some more. Repeat a few times, and your inhib is pushed in. Unless you have a really CC heavy team, there's not much you can do to stop him.

Kaioko1 votes

It's probably OP in ARAM yes, but definitely not in Summoner's Rift and unfortunately we're not going to balance the game around ARAM.

MisterHealYoGirl1 votes

Oh, it IS. I rush Frozen Mallet every single game I get him. Unless i'm up against an Ashe or something, it's BRUTAL.

Ralanr1 votes

I only get item 3022 if I find myself dying a lot. If I get an offensive item on him, it's almost always item 3748.

MisterHealYoGirl1 votes

ARAM is a much more aggressive, kill-focused map than SR, since everyone is consistently low. It's not unusual to be 14/12/35, for example; there's a lot more gold flying around, and your passive will go off much more consistently. I don't know if FM is worth it on Rift (I usually play support when I mosey on over there), but on ARAM there's nothing like making an ADC cry as full tank Frozen Mallet Sion hits him for 260+17% of his max HP per second.

Ralanr1 votes

Sion is just fun and ridiculous to play in ARAM.

It's not just ARAM though. Take an inhibitor tower for example. Sion can already build tank and just solo the stupid thing. So lets say you break off to stop him, and kill him. He just gets back up and finishes it off. Let's say by some chance you stop him, and now you have a tower at 15%. He spawns, ults past your entire team, and finishes it off. Even with the feed, it's still mathematically worth it to do so. You died 300 gp for them, tower dead 970gp for your team. Even if everyone got an assist off you it's still worth, 692 vs 970.

MisterHealYoGirl1 votes

If your team is far behind enough that the enemy team is in your base and can afford to throw away their frontliner for well upwards of a minute, confident that you won't be able to pick and win a fight in that time, you lost the game long ago.

Kaioko1 votes

If he manages to ulti past your entire team that's some mad skills right there considering how clunky the movement during his ult is. Also if he sacrifices himself to a turret leaving you 5 vs 4 and the other team without a tank there's no reason you shouldn't be able to take one of their turrets. Also you can CC/knockback in his passive form or just deal damage so he dies even faster. I need to confirm but I also don't think he gets the lifesteal attacking structures while in his passive.

No he doesn't lifesteal off structures. He is however still a brick, because he built like one. Also in your scenarios I fail to see how a team is both defending their tower from sion, and also pushing his base? It's also very easy to defend a tower 4v5.

Kaioko1 votes

My scenario is where he Sion somehow got mad driving skills and like you said managed to ulti past your entire team that was in the middle of the map to get to your base turrets by himself. If he's going to be dead taking one of your turrets by the time you get there, you're better off taking one of theirs. If they have a high wave clear mid go a 1 - 3 - 1 set up with the junglers and top being the ones.

It's not hard to ult past a team man. You realize everyone tries to AVOID you right? It's not like people dive in for the 3 second stun.

3TWarrior1 votes

actually, Sion is classified as a fighter and nowhere does it say that there can't be more than one tank-like champion on a team. it's actually highly encouraged as it is with toplane needing durability in many scenarios.

Example, as Sion is capable of jungling and has a lot of crowd control at his disposal, another tanky top-laner (though not specifically a tank) can make do, such as Jax, Zac, or etcetera

Turtling becomes quite viable as sion because of his great wave clear and his "unstoppable" ultimate

Ralanr1 votes

Primary Tank, secondary fighter.

JustMyBassCannon1 votes

Oh, even better, it's ARAM. Because we all know champions are specifically balanced for the one-lane team-fight brawl map instead of the three-lane siege.

What assumption did you WANT me to make when that is the first logical possibility and you didn't give any details?

And, more importantly, are you really complaining that there's a viable strategy for a melee champion in ARAM? Aren't those rarer than unicorns in that mode?

Caytheles1 votes

Your nexus was open? and you couldnt kill the Healthbar that disinegrates? then that is just you being nubs

Structures can't kite, so Sion's passive is actually useful against them.
