What is the Point of being Placed Bronze if I Play Against Gold 24/7?

Can someone explain to me the logic here?

If I play 10 placements against tier average gold 4, go 6-4 in placements, why do I get placed in Bronze?

Furthermore, after getting placed bronze, why am I still playing in tier average Gold/Silver games? What was the point in unfairly putting me in a low rank and then not letting me stomp bronze?

This system is absolute dogshit. Either give me the unfair low rank and let me stomp noobs, or give me my actual rank and let me have competitive games. Dont give me a low rank and make me still play 2 tiers higher.

Matchmaking is the worst I have seen it in the ~5 years I have played this game.
