Ive been playing Xerath and the last few games I've played I've have about 50k damage and been fed but still lost. I know its a team game, but any tips on how to extend your lead with Xerath?

I guess don't over extend, make sure there are wards on your sides so nobody sneaks up to you, stay back and let your team peel, get blue buff and siege? I dunno.

A snowballing Xerath is more about freedom in where you deal your damage than straight maximizing your damage. Get Rylais as your second or third item, because it makes you ridiculously safe against most Champions unless they flank you with zero warning (i.e., remember to ward and you'll have no excuse to die). More importantly, Rylais let's you easily chain your skillshots - your ult in particular - and you can be a complete menace to the enemy backline from the safety of your own backline. Start the teamfight, blow your basic CDs on whatever's convenient, then back up a bit and ult. Use your ult to either kill the enemy carries or make them dodge instead of fight. With rank 2 of your ultimate (4 shots) and 2 items (preferably Morello + Rylais), you can easily kill either of their carries or enable your team to reach them.
