There's a big difference between overloading and adding depth.
Constantly releasing champions that can do everything better than the previous champions is overloading them. However...
The new rune system has potential to add more depth in a good way. But it needs clarity.
As for new objectives, do you mean rift herald? I don't see the problem here. How hard is it to understand? Kill it, place it, it hurts towers. Too complex for you?
The game is in great need of more items, not with passives/actives as long as Jhin's (I don't know where you got that idea) but with a clear purpose. How many times do you see adcs build the exact same thing over and over again? What about tanks that want MR? Spirit Visage, even if they don't have any healing. Occasionally, if they can make great use of the aura, abyssal mask, but that's it.
The game NEEDS more items. Items that increase diversity and depth without being too complex.
Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but in my view, the goal should be to have the most depth possible while keeping complexity at a minimum, and League certainly isn't there yet, so while it's not, I support change in that direction.
