Trying to pick a 1 trick...what yall think?

Hey yall.

So first off. Im not really worried about playing ranked, But i dont get to play much since me and the wife just started a family. Im having a hard time trying to pick a 1 trick just to play and practice.

I wanna play mid lane as the goal. The champions i have to pick from are Zed, yas, and Akali. I would love to be able to learn all 3 one day, but lets be honest I just dont have the time. What yall think is a good one to focus on learning? Also maybe you can suggest another champ i have over looked. Problem with the champs i love is they all have a fairly high ban rate.

Thank you for your time..

Also If you happen to know a streamer or youtuber to go with the champ you suggest it would be great. I learn by doing and watching. Thank you again!

Akali was 1 of my first favorite champion so I would recommend! I love the rush of her kit trying too pull of crazy plays. I don't really like the other 2 that much but if I had too say after akali -- zed.

i advise picking for general capacity

like, go for a champ that has a decent variety of roles they can fill, has options into most enemy team comps, and doesn't require the same strategy every time to win.

after you get a good list in that criteria boil it down to like 4 or 5 champs that you are most interested in, then finally pick the champ that on average has the lowest pick/ban rate since their release. That way you wont have to deal with nerfs all that often and you wont see all that many buffs that prompt every FOTM player to steal your pick

After that go for a second champ that has an almost reversed set of counters with a similar set of tactics and force yourself to learn them just in case your pick gets stolen or banned. Make sure that your secondary can handle your main

of the three i'd avise akali because her ban rate went down. Yasuo is kinda an issue to otp because he is banned more often than not and is also highly contested. Zed is also banned frequently in low elo, and also has a lot of issues with bruisers and tanks. Akali is the type of champion that has a lot of utility and probably like 5 or 6 good viable builds for various situations, and I can see her popularity waning over time. She'll likely be the best option overall.

Though if you like those three I might recommend trying out Fiora because she does offer quite a bit of mobility, has good versatility, a nd isn't really countered by anyone while maintaining a pretty low pick/ban. She has a pretty interesting kit and i can't really see her getting boring after mastery.

Yasuo is a really good champion to learn the game on, now that he doesn't do as much true damage he's not really banned so much

He's good to learn the game on because you have to play around what enemy champions do, to do well in games. You also have to hit your skills and farm to get ahead

He can also go top if you get autofilled

yasuo or zed

akali right now is super fun, but you will always be playing a uphill fight with her as riot basically broke everything that made her rework useful

The biggest problem with any of those 3 as a 1 trick is that they all have pretty high ban rates.

if you really want to otp pick different champions because those are banned almost every game for the last couple seasons (and they will continue to) and you won't be able to play them in ranked very much.

Always go with the one you enjoy playing the most, don't settle for anything less. You need to play a champion you want to learn, you need to play something you won't get bored on.

Also keep in mind that you will never be able to literally one trick a champion, especially the high banrate ones you like. Have a backup in case of bans, maybe even consider something to pick when the enemy picks a champion you really don't want to play against on your main.
