Question About Ivern's Tactics

I understand that Ivern was designed for jungle, but there's always so many people who try new champions out in any role they can just to see if they fit differently into the current meta. To be more specific, I've seen some support Ivern gameplay. I noticed that since the brush he places only has vision for a little while, it can be used by the enemy too. Since your team still gets vision of it under tower, what is everybody's thoughts on flooding your own towers with brush so that you can hide but your enemies can't? What other tactics can Ivern use?

Even if you support as Ivern, you should take smite. That way, you can invade the enemy jungle and take their camps quickly and regularly to starve them. Also, use the channel on allied blue and red at level 5 and above so when your jg takes them, your allies can still grab an extra buff from those camps.
