My idea for a Mordekaiser Rework

So I am not a Mordekaiser main I simply like some aspects of his kit and champion design (the in-game fantasy I have when I play, his name “Mordekaiser the iron revenant”). However I think his kit in general is all over the place and I don't know what direction Riot wants to take him.

To me the most iconic abilities in his kit are his Q and passive. Q is the one shot ability that catches people off guard all the time. His passive can save him in clutch situations allowing him to hold on long enough to get kills or win trades. His W is a great ability but is kinda gimmicky. Mordekaiser’s E is a great enabling ability and doesn’t have any unnecessary baggage on it. I think his R needs to go; it doesn’t fit in with the rest of his kit or his in-game appearance. I understand It has been part of his kit since his release and is what defines Mordekaiser’s identity to a lot of people but I think Mordekaiser would better benefit from an ult that serves him as an AP bruiser.

My rework idea defines him more as an AP bruiser I feel. Also I want his lore to be changed. I like to imagine him as an armorsmith whose soul became trapped inside his last creation because of the Harrowing who now just wanders the world as neutral force. His current lore just doesn’t really seem to fit with his kit or design.

Mordekaiser rework

Passive:
Mordekaiser shields for 25% of damage dealt by abilites up to 25% maximum health. After 2 seconds Mordekaiser’s shield decays at a rate of 1% base health per second down to to 7% maximum health.
Mordekaiser can only build 130 bonus armor and magic resist. For every point of armor and magic resist beyond this cap Mordekaiser’s health is reduced by 15. Mordekaiser is a soul in a suit of armor. If the armor is wearing too much armor Mordekaiser can’t keep it together.

Q: Mordekaiser’s next three basic attacks gain 25 range and deal bonus magic damage. The third hit is damage of the previous two combined. Mordekaiser’s basic attacks after the first one deal extra on hit magic damage (+10%AD)(+10%AP) Bonus magic damage values remain unchanged

W: Mordekaiser creates a swarm of metal shards around himself for 4 seconds and gains +15 movement speed during effect and receives 10% less damage from all sources during effect. Deals 25/35/45/55/65(+20%ap) magic damage per second to nearby enemies.
Mordekaiser can cast again to constrict the area dealing magic damage to all enemies near himself and healing himself for the damage dealt. Healing reduced to 25% effectiveness on minions. Damage 50/75/100/125/150(+30%ap). Automatically occurs after full duration E: Now slow enemy champs for 10%

R: My children are in the grave Mordekaiser removes all disables from himself and becomes immune to them for 2 seconds, instantly filling his passive shield. Enemy units near Mordekaiser are feared for .5 seconds and loose -15%/-25%/-35% magic resist (Maybe bonus magic resist would be better balance wise) for 5 seconds. Mordekaiser must kill an enemy champion within 5 seconds or die ({Note: I decided on this constraint because with his passive Mordekaiser already has a kind of do or die theme to him and well I just liked the idea}).
Passive: Mordekaiser remembers why he fights strengthening his resolve. While Mordekaiser’s passive shield is up he gains 20/30/40 base armor and magic resist. ({I feel like there should also be extra ap, ad or maybe attack speed based on % missing health but I am not sure about it enough to put in})

So this is my idea for a Mordekaiser rework and my general thoughts on Mordekaiser’s kit where he stands now. I would love to hear what other people think of Mordekaiser and my rework idea for him. I am especially interested in opinions of Mordekaiser mains. I would love to hear any thoughts they had on my rework idea and if this rework would still feel like the Mordekaiser they know and love.
