Will the Kassadin change be enough?
Do you guys think kassadin's ult being 500 now will make enough of a difference for him to be viable again?

the mana reduction and the cooldown reduction puts him either at the same spot or at a better spot than he was pre range nerf.
Possibly yes. I'm interested in seeing the mana cost now down 33% from two patches ago and the CD down so far. This might be the era of him QREWRing someone in lane and getting away almost scot-free. Bring sustain laners back against him who can shove lane.
I feel like
will do well because every time Kass roams, he forfeits tower durability in the early game. Meanwhile, Vlad's sustain and ability to build
to greatly empower himself in lane will let him trade blows with Kass.

Kassadin has facerolled Vlad in lane for a really long time so unless he builds super hard for late-game, he will continue to mindlessly faceroll Vlad in lane, although he'll have to think a bit more about landing his ult.
It's not so much the range increase (though it's a big help) but the reduced cooldown and mana cost that will make him really powerful again
