One of the plats were probably just playing with their bud silver janna. I do that pretty often. The matchmaking itself is even.

Would you prefer a plat and duo to,

A. Get placed against all Plats B. Get placed against all silvers C. Get placed against another plat and silver duo (which looks like what happened in this specific case)

That lobby is literally 1650 MMR at GOLD 3. Right in the dead center of plat and silver lol. This is probably one of the better matchmade games. That GP just carried though cause the game lasted 40 minutes.

To sum it up : 2p 1g 1s 1u vs 1p 1g 2s 1u (p=plat, g=gold, etc)

Normal matchmaking is bonkers because there are no elo limits and because ranked MMR doesn't affect normal MMR. Someone that's challenger rank 1 can queue with someone that's bronze V 0 LP and premade rank disparities throw the whole thing out of the proverbial window. The only queue with true balanced matchmaking (most of the time) is ranked tbh.
