does anyone think this for caitlyn?

I kinda feel like caitlyns ult should have an execute mechanic on her ult not like instant R and instant execute but maybe something like stepping on a trap marks them vulnerable turning the ult into an instant execute no matetr what hp or just simply execute below certain hp - her ult just doesnt feel saitfying to use to me

also might get hate for saying this bit but i kinda feel like her W should proc her passive range auto from any distance since they are kinda hard for enemies to sit on - as a sniper adc i dont feel it tbh .... i kinda treat jhin more of a sniper adc and caitlyn just has some weird gun she bought from toys r us or something lol

i know some people might say things like but shes good or bad (not sure what shes like atm) but i just feel like shes not hitting her theme well as sniper

Whether she's good or bad at the moment - Both of your suggestions would 100% break her.

Executing from any health if you press R after someone gets trapped? Auto attacking from ANY range if someone steps in a trap? So the traps are a death sentence, no matter where they are. With no viable way to clear them. Sounds delightful. Lol

The only way I could see that becoming even CLOSE to balanced if if the traps were given a HP counter and could be destroyed(During Oracles/sweepers, even though they're always visible) - And/Or if traps were able to be triggered by minions.

Even then, it'd still be broken levels of ridiculous.

I feel like giving her ult execute damage - along either the lines of Veigar's ult (where it scales more based on AD/AP the more health the opponent is missing), of Eve's ult (where it does bonus damage below a specific %hp threshold), or of Garen's ult (where it just does %missing health in addition to a relatively small base/scaling damage) - would be fine, but making it a straight-up execute (Such as Urgot's ult) would probably be a bad ide.

And the infinite range versus W'd targets would be...problematic. Maybe a range extension per level would be in order, however?

I don't like the fact that a sniper typically picks off a person and caitlyn doesn't have that feel. I have played a lot of caitlyn and just feel her ult is very lack luster. I would rather do something like make it either 1 of 2 ways. Numbers of course can be adjusted this is just the general concept

  1. 300/400/500 +100% AP scaling unblockable (yes AP scaling, I like this one better personally)
  2. 2x auto ignores 50% armor but takes longer to channel so it can blocked. I would possibly also do like 1.5x an auto damage and true damage. Something along those lines to make it feel like an actual execute ability.

No. She already has potential 3k damage crits if played correctly. Execute champs lack sustained damage in other parts of their kits that can do that. In order for her R to have an execute, she would have to lose damage elsewhere. A LOT of it.

Also, what happens when the shot gets blocked?

She also has the longest nonconditional range of auto attack of any adc in the game. Coupled with item 3095 , that's murder.

There's nothing wrong with Caitlyn. In terms of evaluating an adc on dueling potential, Caitlyn is easily one of the top two.

If her Win rate ever suffers, it's not because of her balance/dueling. It's because the meta has moved to a mobility creep and she consistently dies to getting surrounded on all sides by dashes, of which she can only mitigate one.

how does she have 3k damage crits? 350 damage x 2 (100% crit chance) + [50-100% (at levels 1-18) (+150% crit chance) total attack damage (350x2+350*1.5)=700+525=1225 assuming level 18 and not taking armor into affect

what am i missing in my math?

tl;dr Not really.

So here's how I figure:

(AD * Crit Mult) + (Crittable On-hits * Crit Mult) + On-hits

With a sample Energy / Crit based full build at level 18:

Berserker's Greaves + Statikk Shiv + Rapid Firecannon + Infinity Edge + Stormrazor + The Bloodthirster

Caitlyn has: 317 AD (107 Base + 210 Items 100% crit ((30% Statikk Shiv + 30% Rapid Firecannon) * 2 Infinity Edge capped at 100%)

Her passive deals: AD * (1.00 + (1.25 * 1.00)) = 323 * (1.00 + (1.25 * 1.00)) = 323 * 2.25 = 726.75 damage

Overall this build does: 4.25(AD) + 140 damage (Shiv Proc)

Calculation: (4.25 * 317) + 140 = 1627.25 damage

I tried this in practice tool, the dummy takes the 606 Physical, 126 Magical, and 163 true damage. Which is consistent with the math.

If you use the most common rune setup (Precision / Sorcery) you get an additional 8.4 AD from choosing sorcery and 5.28 from celerity.

This contributes an additional 13.68 AD (54.72 damage for a total of 1681.97).

The kicker here is Gathering Storm which gives AD over time. To get a 3k crit you need another ((3000 - 1681.97) / 4.25) damage. That's another 310 AD.

I guess you can get a 3k crit with Caitlyn with this setup if you bothered playing a 646 minute long game. (That's about 10.75 hours.)

Realistically: About 1700 if you line up an energized full crit headshot.

The math's a little different than season 7, so I'm apt to be exaggerating a little bit.

In season 7 I literally had 3200 damage crits on Caitlyn. I just checked. Couldn't pull that off again. The most I did without a reasonably insane game length was about 2400. So.... something has changed, and I am wrong there. Still, the rest is valid and she does have legitimate output.
