Mid lane is literally who can proc their point and click electrocute ignite faster while wave clearing instantly then hopping bot for the double. Riot killed mages because they could wave clear, now what, what's changed riot? Every fucking meta champion still just pushes the wave like a chimp, they just have the added benefit of maybe hitting you once while they slap their keyboard on the creeps to proc electrocute and just killing you.
