IT'S 2018 WHY THE FUCK ARE NEW/REWORKED CHAMPIONS STILL ALLOWED IN RANKED.

Excuse my language but quite frankly I'm fucking tired of having to use my own ban to ban the new bullshit that was just released simply to keep my garbage top laner (who's already negative with his Yasuo top) from picking this bitch and feeding.

New/reworked champions need to be kept FAR away from ranked in the beginning, for everyone's and especially my sake.

If someone could come up with a convincing argument as to why a newly released or highly reworked champion should be allowed to be chosen in ranked, I'll gift you RP. League is legit the only game that allows this.

I can think of several games that allow newly released characters to enter ranked play. Actually could you tell me of some that don't?

The ones that allow newly released characters into ranked play that I know of: Heroes of the Storm World of Warcraft Overwatch (pretty sure) Brawlhalla Hyper Universe etc.

While I agree there should be at least 3 days of a trial period before being brought into ranked, I don't agree with the hyperbolic statement. There are players who are either one-trick-ponies or have a limited champion selection pool. There's also the fact that there's a champion requirement to play ranked. So someone with exactly just enough champions to play ranked may be barred from ranked play until the champion is re-introduced into the League of Legends ranked roster. This can cause a lot of conflict and a loss of support. Not to mention that it would complicate the code more for what is bannable within the ranked roster, since now you'd have to put an exception in for any reworked/released champion or someone would mistakenly ban a useless champion (as if that doesn't happen already). I hope you can see that there is a lot more work to be done and a lot more issues that come up than simply choosing to ban the champion with your ban, then hoping your team uses the other 4 bans effectively.

You can send the RP to this account.

Pro-tip - Don't play ranked until new/rewoked champions have gone through their first week of buffs/nerfs and have been adequately acclimated to the game.

Because people would just wait out the arbitrary time limit and THEN first time the champion in ranked.

Its what i do.

<removed by moderation>. If YOU do not like then simply do not play THAT week, you can take a break for a week and do something else for awhile.

Riot still does it because they want to get as much feedback from gameplay as possible. When they do internal testing and PBE it's only for a certain length of time and will only gather a small percentage, once on Live servers they can gain much more valuable information on what needs to be changed for the champion in all modes.

Plus there was an Ask Riot about this sometime last year and they still don't wish to a ban/lockout of a new or reworked champion yet. So if you don't want to see them then that's up to you.

Fine ban new cahmps for two weeks from ranked.

2 Weeks later: Guy who only play ranked (alot) picks champ against someone who know how to coutner - 0-20. Guy who only plays ranked (still alot) meets the new one for first time against someone with 50+ games.... GG

That's why you should never ban new champs - learn how to play/how to play with/how to play against them while noone has a real clue how they work!

Sure it's adds one more random factor but in an already quite random enviroment it really doesnt matter that much. (Especially if you tilt your Team mate before minute 1 just to elimate the random aspect)

That being said the new Irelia is a NON-Issue anyway. Anyone who could play her before can play her now and anyone who could not is still unable to.

Because the PBE exists and Riot gave everyone a chance to get a PBE account for free.

I know several people personally who will get on the PBE and spam these champions to learn them.

So while, sure you can't count on that, there is still a decent likelihood that they have had plenty of chances to try out the new rework before it "officially" launched.

EDIT: Also, not all regions have norms. Some regions only have ranked and _maybe (i don't know for sure) blind pick. But blind pick is the wild west, so I can't blame them for not wanting anything to do with that.
