Whether or not he is hard countered by cc (because being real, if you know how to utilize his q correctly you can dodge most cc) is irrelevant, however the fact remains that, due to the sheer amount of true damage Yi deals with his E, Conqueror and he becomes virtually impossible to itemize against. It really doesn't matter what you build because if Yi is allowed 1 second to auto you you're dead.

Can something be done about him please?The amount of true damage he dishes out is actually ridiculous, and when you pair it with Essence Reaver it becomes even more cancerous.

The only two options for counter play AFTER you’ve been caught by him is

Burst him down
CC him

Outside of building damage to burst him, there is no building against a yi that’s ahead or at full build.

Just don’t get into that position

Here is some counterplay for Yi in last few patches:

go afk, you can't lose if you didn't fight in the first place
DDOS him
play Yi yourself
have 5 Malzahars
permaban him and get fucked by Irelia instead

All of Yi's damage is pretty much burst due to how ridiculous his DPS is, so even if you have strong burst he doesn't care.

The balance team at riot is literal trash, they keep buffing champs who aren't weak until they're too broken and have no counterplay like yi. he one shots you with one aa and even with my ga and ALL sums his q and e deal way too much fucking dmg that you actually cant do shit. then they buff yasuo when he isn't weak AT ALL and give him 180% crit. when he has pd he literally one shots any squishy champ plus his windwall so you cant do shit. REAL NICE RIOT. the game is over once yi/yasuo get 2 items and we cant do anything

Best part about building item 3110 vs yi is that you actually want HP. But this item gives useless armor. Shitton of useless armor.

Hi there! I am a high plat support main who frequently has to deal with Master Yi on the enemy team spiraling out of control. Maybe i can offer you some advice and feedback about how to best deal with him! I promise you he has counters, and while he is definitely a hyper carry, you can still stop him from taking over games. So.. lets go:

1.) Most people will tell you that CC is the counter to Yi - and that's pretty true, but what most people DONT tell you is that he is countered by really good **grouping and teamwork mechanics. ** It's paramount to stick togehter, so that Yi can't dive in and assassinate you all or face severe consequences for doing so. Protect each other and Yi will just have to sit around on the backline and try to find an opening.

2.) The 2nd most important thing to countering Yi? Knowing where he is at ALL times. Vision control is ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL when dealing with someone like Yi. Buy more pinks. ward up. Stay together. In short? Treat Master Yi like an bush full of angry hornets. Don't go fucking with the hornets. Stay away. Know where the hornets are at all times, and lastly - Work in teams and setup traps FOR the hornets.

3.) There are a PLETHRA of items and champions that counteract Master Yi. I would post them all, but people have already done the work for you ,and I want a sandwich. I will be having a sandwich after posting this. The big things you want are anything that can delay assassination. Shields, CC, Armor, Health, SLOWS. All of these things work to prevent Yi from doing what he does best. You might come back at me with 'Yi's Q and his Ultimate make him immune' which I will say yes, which is why its CRITICAL you go back and read my first point. You MUST fight him in groups, so you can dogpile CC ontop of him.

4.) There is no 4th part, just remember the bit about a bush full of angry hornets and you will be fine. Also make sure you eat.

As the game goes on it gets hard to, but finding a naked Yi is an easy kill even if he is fed you'll only need a couple people. Naked Yi: after he Q's, no ult, no rageblade stacks

You can't tank against him. Alright. He's a tank melter, though. That's kinda his purpose.

You know how to itemize against Yi? item 3285 item 3089 item 3165 item 3020 . There. You've now itemized against Yi.

Also, as another option: item 3142 item 3147 item 3095 item 3047 / item 3006 . Another amazing itemization against Yi.

I mean, you guys blame ADCs when they die under turret to any fighter/assassin, just because they're alone. Well. Now you have a good champion that beats tanks. So just group and stop being alone. Since that's what you've been telling every ADC to do constantly every time they're denied any chance to survive an assassin on the sole basis that they're alone and the assassin has two more kills than deaths.

So here's the really simple secret to making Yi weak: Wait to use your CC till _ after_ he Q's. Every time I see someone who can't handle Yi it's almost always because they all go to stop him and he Q dodges it. But if you just dash then let him Q then CC suddenly he pops.

Yi is immune to movement speed slow. Not attack speed slow. So Frozen Heart, 1 other Warden's mail item, and Exhaust will slow down his auto attacks.

Its no different than other hypercarries with true damage like Vayne.

Dont single out Yi just because he's the silver scrubber. Low elo has never known how to tactically deal with him. Thats nothing new.

Frozen Heart Slows Attack Speed as an Aura effect.

Randuins Slows Attack Speed upon being hit.

Thormail is good because of some form of reflection damage.

Tabbies are quite ESSENTIAL, even if they just block 12% of the basic attack damage

Not that they are that useful, but it still helps a little bit
