Rito, you should allow summoners to turn off chat completely. Now, I know most of you will say, "Oh, you can't communicate with your team that way!" or "If they're toxic, just mute them" but the honest to goodness truth is, I shouldn't have to. One of the tips is "Just because there is a profanity filter doesn't mean you can swear" or something along those lines, which can be used for this, just because I could mute someone, doesn't mean I should have to, I should be allowed to just turn my chat off and not deal with the toxic players who report me for saying anything at all in chat. If the Tribunal wasn't such a stupid, flawed, worthless system that you only use so you don't have to do the work yourself, I wouldn't even care about chat, but this is the world we're stuck in, where you asshats won't even bother to let players just tune out the random chodes who ruin games.

But players who refuse to work with their team ruin games, too. In fact, there's a lot of overlap between people who refuse to cooperate and random chodes.

I have a friend who moves the chatbox so that only a small part of it shows on his screen and he communicates solely through pings.

I always work with my team regardless of how toxic they are, but when I get reported constantly by people who tell me I suck, or to go f**k myself or I'm useless, it just makes me think that having a chat in general is a waste of time
