How do I farm in mid/late game?

When everyone starts playing ARAM I feel like there's never a good time to go and clear a side lane. Even if a huge wave is crashing into my tower. Because the moment I leave mid is usually when my team decides it's the best time to engage 4v5. So how should I do it? Just forfeit the farm and stay with my team all the time?

If you have the patience, you can set up a slow push in a side lane and then go ARAM with your team. They will eventually have to send someone to deal with the massive wave threatening to take a tower in the side lane. When they do, it will relieve pressure so you can go and farm.
