NIdalee Still a problem in lane.

So Today I decided to play a few matches (normal's to get my aim back) and found that Nid can still 1 shot people and be very oppressive. item 3285 is stupidly overpowering her spear and her Cougar form ability.

To put into context, I was against an Arhi (got sort of abused early by her Q movespeed), had a bit of trouble early but came back at the end being able to almost 1 shot the Enemy Caitlyn with 1 Spear and Ludents proc. Next game got even worse for the enemy (as I think i found my aim again). This time it was a Fizz. Before level 2 I was able to 1/2 Hp the fizz with 1 spear. Level 2 came around and I was able to Q E Q and get early first blood. Then Fizz came back to "finish" me off, but my jungler was there to stop him for me to Max range Q into Cougar W Q combo. That was all the game was.

Both games had the same outcome. A win, but both showed me that Nid still needs a hit to Q in terms of Damage. Yes it costs a good amount, but with Mana management, you can easily come out ahead in most situations. Except when they pile 3 ults all having a form of CC on them. Then, yeah you are pretty boned.

Here's why I think this based off 2 games in Silver/Gold MMR. 1st, Nid can be very agressive but be able to stay out of range of harm. Her spear has enough damage early on to make the opponent have to back off a bit or play defensively. 2nd Her cougar form is stupidly strong. W reset on Minion kill, on top of low Cooldowns on Q/E, makes it very easy to farm post-level 4. (My Path is Q > E > Q > W FYI). Her heal, all be it, not what it used to be, is still very good. Without a whole lot of AP (47) her E can heal for a lot. The only thing that isn't all that great is her Human W, which to me is just to deture others from Odd gank paths.

So how do you Tone her down without making her into the next Poppy/Elise?

Simple Tone down her Scaling, and reduce the Length of her Q (which I personally feel would bring her in line with being balanced).

The only reason I don't think she's played as often in LCS/LCK is because she fell out of being FOTM. She sits close to 50% win rate in ranked (team and Solo), About 45% in Normals, And there isn;t stat;s for Aram (sorry). So it's not like she is terrible in any way, it's just people forgot about her and went for more Upfront point-click burst instead of Skill-shot Burst.

So is she a problem? IMO yes. Does she need a slight nerf? Of course. Will it piss people off? I would hope so.

Just take the scaling off of her spear.

why does it need it? It already does a shit load of base damage

the reaosn she isnt played often in the lcs is becuase she cant do jack shit to tanks...

EVERY bruiser and EVERY tank will counter her. EVERY SINGLE ONE

then there are champ likeZed Leblanc Diana Ahri they totally destroyed nid ONLY defense against tanks which was her 10% hp shred on traps which the tank would already have to be an idoit to walk over. it's now officially the weakest damaging skill in the game and the easiest to avoid as well.

as for her spear... don't get hit by it...

nidalee CAN NOT ENGAGE unless she procs hunted on you. she will lose ANY trade where hunted is not proced.

im sorry but its the same thing as "dont get pulled by blitz.. dont get hooked by thresh, dont get hit by ahris charm.. these are ALL straight line skilshots that stop at the first target hit. they are the hardest skill in the game to land. do u honestly expect them not to be strong when they do land?

if you get hit by ANY of those skills, you can expect to die if your squishy. nids spear is no different

dont stand out in the open. stay behind creep. force an engage on nid right after her spear misses, that a 6 second window that she cant trade you in.

nid has so much counterplay to her
