I'm curious, which one do you guys think will be better on Udyr? The bigger, more useful Trinity Force, or the cheaper, more team-helpful Black Cleaver?
I think Triforce will still be more favorable for Phoenix stance, while Cleaver will be for Tiger stance.
I'm talking about the new cleaver, of course.
Dreadlocks2 votesThey both do different things obviously, I think trinity has always been a staple item for udyr when wanting damage.. that will probably never change.. adding a BC to the build wont hurt. I dont think u need to pick 1 or the other just because of the 2 phages...
However if u are going to, I think u have the right idea.

Jacknife1 votesIt would depend how you planned on building him. If your going for solo carry udyr, Trinity's the way to go, the sheen procs are not to be ignored. If your opting for a more teamfighter udyr, then Black Cleaver. I'd honestly stick with TF in most situations though, it gives udyr a lot more and helps his mixed damage more than BC.

Udyr can proc the spell blade on Triforce every time it is up, giving the overall damage edge to Triforce. If Udyr is looking more to support his allies, BC will be okay, the tiger stance will be very effective with it's tick damage on top of the armor reduction from BC. It also gives CDR, which is good for Udyr, he could skip Frozen Heart if he wanted Randuin's for more effective health.
I think I agree with everyone in that it would be highly situational which one you take, if you take either one at all. Udyr is so well designed in that he can do well with almost every item in the game, so either item will most likely be effective on him in some way, but there will be a trade off and a benefit to using each of them.

I was just stating that Udyr is designed well in that he does well with a lot of items in the game. He may not be the best designed champ out there in other aspects, but his viable build options are very diverse when compared to other champions who have more "core" items than Udyr.

Teamwork is OP, a lot of supports don't take Aegis >_>
ABlueQuaker1 votesI agree with that for Jungle Udyr (I was thinking more about Top Lane Udyr with regards to Spirit Visage). Aegis is what would fill that slot as a Jungle Udyr.
So it would be like: Top - Boots, TriForce, FH, SV, Hydra/BotRK, Situational Offensive/Defensive/Utility Item (Cleaver) Jungle - Boots, TriForce, FH, Locket, Hydra/BotRK, Situational Offensive/Defensive/Utility Item (Cleaver)
