I want to talk about gold gain for kills and assist a little bit. I know it´s a fundermental part of the game mechanics and hasn´t seen major changes beside some value adjustments. I get the reasoning behind last hitting (especially for minions) because it´s an essential part of the laning phase for estimating damage output, zoning, traiding, etc.

The thing is I never understood the reasoning behind the last hit mechanic for kills and assists. For example if a support gets a kill it´s almost never a clever tactical outplay of the enemy rather than a simple mistake. Especially in teamfight situations it´s heavily dependent on your luck if you get the kill. Sure champions with high sustain or execute damage have a better chance but it still remains rng for the most part.

**My point is the gold distribution doesn´t take into account the amount of damage deal to the respective champion. It would be much fairer especially for initiation/engage champions which are likely to die quickely (melee) or put there abilities on cooldown (ranged). **

A while ago people where complaining that they arn´t able to carry because of high amount of global gold for shutdowns and towers. Now we have ridiculous amouts of solo gold for a random lasthits. At one point I was receiving 1600 shutdown gold as a support. That doesn´t sound reasonable to me. I think it´s much more rewarding if you play good and provide an actual value to your team as damage dealer. I know there are more aspects that need to be considered. The first thing I check after a match are damage output (for damage dealer), damage taken (tanks), vision score (everyone) and some other stuff. I don´t give kda that much attention because in my opinion these values are quite missleading (similar to cs but that´s another topic). Nonetheless gold income for support and tanks is regulated a bit different already.

No matter how much I think about it I see more advantage than disadvantages. There arn´t that many discussions about this topic. Actually not even alot of gameplay discussions at all besides nerf xy (which bothers me more than it should I guess). But since this system exsists for quite some time there are probably reasons why this isn´t the case. I´m very curious to hear arguments agaist this mechanic.
