Can someone explain me why is toxic behavior a necessity?

IDEMO NA MUDA··7 votes·5,986 views

I understand everyone is someone in a bad mood, have some personal issues or whatever else may be, and sometimes you just become a bit toxic to others because you're frustrated for one or another reason. But when you flame someone constantly for no particular reason, and even giving death wishes, wishes to get cancer, that's too much. Just calm down.

i agree with you but some people just can't calm down even when they get banned..

IDEMO NA MUDA1 votes

I know that. They get even more frustrated and that's fine. I can't seem to find a better way to not get mad at the game rather than just quitting to give a damn about the game itself and its flaws.

Don't think that's an excuse for being a shitty person. Most of league community is unemployed teenage children that have no other obligations than school so therefore no reason to be too stressed about other things because their parents are the one giving them everything they need.

And you're completely right.

I just stated the reason why people are toxic. Because nobody is perfect.

Perfection is an illusion.

IDEMO NA MUDA3 votes

Yes, we can talk about philosophy now but it'd go way too deep considering its just about a game. We can all agree that nobody is perfect, of course, but the fact that majority of league of legends' community is toxic and frustrated really is concerning.

You're acting like League of Legends community is the only gaming community that's toxic.

Call of Duty?

Counter Strike?

Halo?

All of them have toxic communities.

Don't act like League of Legends is the only one.

IDEMO NA MUDA1 votes

I am not acting like League of Legends is the only gaming community that is toxic. Every online game is going to have someone toxic in it. I am just implying that League's community is by far the most toxic one. The one with the most amount of toxic people in it.

If you include yourself in a group of people that write things like i've mentioned in the original post, then i'd want you to quit the game. If you can't enjoy the game and rather flame others while making serious insults and death wishes then you shouldn't play it at all.

That escalated quickly.

I never implied that I include myself in that group.

I'm just saying that blatantly making obvious statements like "this game is toxic" doesn't go anywhere.

Actions must be taken if you want something to be done about it. Pointing out the obvious does nothing, and people have been doing it since League's creation.

With this post i tried implying on the toxicity present in the game and in the last sentence i said calm down. If people can get it, that'd be great, even if one person changes because of it, great. You don't need to go deeply into why and how on this one. Don't flame cause its a bad thing to do. Does it really need more than that so you can try to be nice to other people and win a game even? Everyone knows that when mad/tilted your performance is worse than when you're happy / neutral. So why wouldn't you try to be friendly and nice towards others so you can all increase your team's morale and play the best game you can.

Going back to what I originally said: not everyone can just be nice.

Not everyone can just put others before ourselves.

Blah blah being flawed and all.

It's easier said than done.

Those who are able to do so, great. Fantastic. But don't act like every human functions like this.

You shouldn't consider what people are doing, but consider why they're doing it.

Or the same people you've mentioned can start thinking rationally and realise flaming doesn't help anyone.

By far the most toxic? In my experience, CSGO is much more toxic than League. You get people vote kicking you if you don't solo ace their whole team after they die early on in the round, as well as much more trolls and immature youngsters.

IDEMO NA MUDA1 votes

I have played CSGO a while back, around a year ago, and i haven't encountered that much toxicity as you are mentioning. I have managed to get to Master Guardian Elite for a few months that i was playing and after leaving silver, maybe gold nova 1 or 2, i haven't seen any toxic people at all whatsoever. Maybe it was just me being lucky not to get anyone toxic, but other than that, nothing worth of mentioning about toxicity in that game comparing to this.

Most of the time I'm a chill player, I crack jokes and all. But look when you have situations like this : you start an ARAM game, you roll a pick you love, someone dodges, you tell yourself "ok np", you get another pick you love, someone dodges again, "ok np happens", and it happens a third time. You end up with Nunu and a full melee team against a full ranged team with Sona and the pick you got before that you enjoyed. You start the game and someone is afk. In this case, I know I'll start boiling down. I either start being really mean and bitter, or if I manage to control myself, I just mute-all and play, while not trying at all

I'm human and have emotions, I can't always pretend to be chill if I'm not. Might sounds selfish, but I'm like this

IDEMO NA MUDA1 votes

It's normal to feel like that. I personally have that issues as well on my soloQ ranked games. Sometimes i end up having people dodge games ( diamond 3 atm ) because of bad team comp and that happens around 10 even 15 times in a row which really upsets me. I prefer leaving the queue and go play Stardew Valley to chill and have some fun there before i come back to League. I suggest you find some non competitive game that can calm you down like Stardew Valley calms me down and take a break if you're annoyed

Madsin252 votes

It is evolutionary.

We are extremely toxic to one another because it makes us stronger.

If you think bad toxicity is only found in this game you have no idea what is truly out there in this world.

My advice for you, as someone who used to be like that, is to quit caring about win. Play what you think is good. You wanna go bard jungle in your series to diamond V? Who cares, go a god damn bard in jungle. Just try to have fun and quit caring about win. Yeah, there's a broken garen, a broken LB, a lot of shitty designs and other stupid things in the game, but just quit caring about it. That's my best advice and if you manage to do that, you'll have a lot more fun and less toxicity and frustration in you.

Vlada Cut1 votes

Eune is more toxic and chumdish than other servers. No point in trying to reason with those angry apes. How? Because they tell you"kys" for saying good luck and have fun. People in this game are toxic, say you can't have fun in League and are deluded af. My suggestion? Ignore them and don't care about what other says, your exoerience only matters and that's what you should be focusing on. For the toxic jerkfaces, let the punishments do the talking for you.

IDEMO NA MUDA1 votes

Agreed. I usually mute them right away, fullmute, of course. One part of the toxicity that i can understand is the current state of the game but other than that, a comment such as "i hope you get cancer" or "you and your family to get cancer and die" and similar, its way over the limit.

What I also hate is when my friends spam messages or have anyone else talk to me shen I am writting reports abiut serious toxic examples such as the ones you've mentioned. Distractions make me skip to next gsme and forget to report them on the first place. :I

So why can't they react accordingly to it. If they know they won't get anything with flaming, what's the point of it.

IDEMO NA MUDA1 votes

Then the people that react like you've said in this comment should reconsider their priorities. If they are doing something they find insignificant, something they won't bother analyzing, then they really should quit the game. That's why 90% of the low elo is in low elo. They don't sit down and analyze. It's easier to flame others rather than improve yourself by realising all mistakes that you've done.

ChargeItDownMid1 votes

IDEMO NA MUDA1 votes

I consider myself a high elo player and i can tell that the last sentence is incorrect. I've played in both high and low elo. People don't bother flaming in my soloq games.

ChargeItDownMid1 votes

IDEMO NA MUDA1 votes

On contrary, it's quite the opposite. I think a lot of people find my server the most toxic one but in high elo people don't bother typing. The only reason chat is used is to ping / write down flash timers.

You think people flame others gameplay because of something else and theyre falsely releasing anger on them, youre wrong. If 3 of my teammates are 0/3 at 3 minutes why am I being told im toxic, In game behavior is much more toxic and obviously intentional than in chat behavior

IDEMO NA MUDA1 votes

Disagreed. If three of your teammates are 0/3, that doesn't give you any right to be toxic nor makes them toxic in a matter of their gameplay. They had a bad time on their lane, or they are up against someone who's better than them. In-game toxic non-chat behavior is something like inting, trolling your teammates or revealing your teams' position on the map.

Netorare1 votes

Toxicity will always be a part of games and you can't change that, its only natural because there must be toxicity...

IDEMO NA MUDA1 votes

Rational thinking can help. Just see if you can gain anything, besides reports that is, from flaming.

sometimes some people REALLY need to know that they are idiots, otherwise they go to the next game thinking they are not. if they cry their eyes out about it at night then thats even better.

ChasmOfTrossm1 votes

If someone is being an idiot, I am going to call them an idiot, because it is the only way they will improve. That said, this is in degrees of escalation. Initially I will make a friendly suggestion to them and point out an error they are making, but if they start acting belligerent, I will stop pulling my punches, and unleash the full force of my wrath upon them. I have no time for immature brats who refuse to take advice and choose instead to react with insults, which is the typical response I tend to get when dealing with bad players.
