The Value of Refillable Potions
Math:
50gp = 150 hp x3 = 450 hp.
new
: 150gp = 125 hp x2 x (1 + number of refills) =
= 250 hp on purchase
= 500 hp on first back
~= 3.33 hp per gp
: 500gp = (60hp + 30 mp) x5 x (1 + number of refills) =
= (250 hp from
) + 300hp + 150mp = 550hp+150mp on purchase
= 850hp+300mp next back
~=2.3 combine hp and mp per gp
assuming you get 3 charges from camps before it runs out, this increases to:
: 500gp = (60hp + 30 mp) x8 x (1 + number of refills) =
= (250 hp from
) + 480hp + 240mp = 730hp+240mp on purchase
= 1210hp+480mp next back
~=3.8 combine hp and mp per gp
So it's an about equal value. possibly higher.
: 500gp = (150hp + 50 mp) x3 x (1 + number of refills) =
= (250 hp from
) + 450hp + 150mp = 650hp+150mp on purchase
= 1100hp+300mp next back, plus magic damage
~=2.8 combine hp and mp per gp, plus magic damage.
So how much is that magic damage really worth? Well, assuming all damage is equal:
is roughly the same cost as the upgrade between
and
(350gp), and gives +10 damage per AA.
Corrupting potion gives 15-30 damage over 3 seconds per AA, but a normal attack speed of 1 AA per 2 seconds reduces this to about 12 damage per AA at low levels.
Trouble is, you only get 36 seconds of that bonus damage, or about 400-500 damage total. AND it can't upgrade further.
The Longsword works 24/7, and upgrades. Meaning we can estimate about 5 minutes of uninterrupted damage from it over the course of a game. (assuming it's not sold) that gives about 1500 damage. Three times that of the potion.
Calculating:
~= 3.8 combined hp and mp (yours and opponents)
~= 4.29 hp (enemies only)
The value of the Flask, of course goes up as you keep it later into the game, but that's kinda like sitting on a dorans blade.
so, now that you've seen all the numbers, I'll ask you a question:
