Soraka Re-rework Ideas
Hey all - new to the boards here (awkwardly have to repost this in the correct sub-forum),
I've noticed
's kit is usually requiring balance changes and/or is normally considered 'toxic' to play against, and I think it's due to the inherent ease of her pulling off her role - the Healer. Though healing in LoL is quite often not a well-welcomed thematic, I believe we can attempt to both solve
's issues regarding relatively toxic gameplay and the passive/plain playstyle that comes with her. Of course, many people may like the current (although, more seemed happier with her viability as a mid-laner pre-rework), we can always adapt her thematic and change it into something thought-provoking or mechanically challenging (not an intense amount, just less w-only spam gameplay).
Current:
[Passive] - Salvation Soraka runs faster to nearby low health allies
[Q] - Starcall Cost: 40/45/50/55/60 Mana Cooldown: 5 seconds Calls down a star from Soraka to a target location. Enemies standing in the explosion radius take 70/110/150/190/230 (+0.35AP) magic damage and are slowed by 30% for 2 seconds. If Starcall hits a champion Soraka gains Rejuvenation for 4 seconds, which restores 14/16/18/20/22 (+0.05AP) health per second and grants 10% movement speed when not moving toward enemy champions.
[W] - Astral Infusion Cost: 10% Max Health, 50/55/60/65/70 Mana Cooldown: 8/6.5/5/3.5/2 seconds Restores 80/110/140/170//200 (+0.6AP) health to another champion ally. If cast while affected by Rejuvenation, Soraka will grant her target its benefits for 0.4AP seconds. Cannot be cast if Soraka is below 5% Health.
[E] - Equinox Cost: 70 Mana Cooldown: 24/22/20/18/16 seconds Creates a zone at target location for 1.5 seconds, dealing 70 (+0.4AP) magic damage to enemy Champions in the cast radius. Enemy Champions standing in the zone are silenced until they leave. When the zone disappears, all enemy Champions still standing in the zone are rooted for 1 second(s) and are dealt 70 (+0.4AP) magic damage.
[R] - Wish Cost: 100 Mana Cooldown: 160/145/130 seconds Calls upon divine powers to restore 150 (+0.55*AP) Health to all allied Champions. Wish's power is increased by 50% on each Champion below 40% Health.
**Proposed Changes/New Kit: **
[Passive] - Shooting Stars Every 15/10/5 seconds, a star falls in a random location around Soraka (maximum 810 radius), if Soraka walks over the star grant Rejuvenation for 3 seconds, restoring 15/23/28 (+0.15*AP) health per second, 5/10/15 (+0.15% AP) mana per second and 100 decaying movement speed. [Additional Passive] - Stargazer Enemies/Allies hit by Starcall are marked with Stargazer for 3 seconds; the effect ends if Astral Infusion or Equinox is used on the target(s).
[Q] - Starcall Cost: 50/55/60/65/70 Mana Cooldown: 9/8/7/6/5 seconds Calls down a Star from Soraka to a target location (maximum 810 range). Enemies standing in the explosion radius take 30/80/130/180/230 (+0.4AP) magic damage, are slowed by 10/15/20/25/30% for 2 seconds and are marked with [Stargazer]. Allies standing in the explosion radius also are marked with [Stargazer]. Additionally, if Starcall is cast on a Shooting Star then the Star detonates (maximum 300 radius) dealing an additional 20/40/60/80/100 (+0.6AP) damage.
[W] - Astral Infusion Cost: 10% Max Health, 50/60/70/80/90 Mana or 50/60/70/80/90 Mana only Cooldown: 15/14/13/12/11 seconds If cast on an enemy marked with Stargazer, Soraka drains 70/85/100/115/130 (+0.4AP) of their health. If multiple enemies within a 550 radius of Soraka are also marked with Stargazer, Soraka drains 70/85/100/115/130 (+0.4AP) of their health each. If cast on an ally unmarked with Stargazer, Soraka restores 100/120/150/190/230 (+0.7AP) at the sacrifice of 10% of her Max health in addition to the mana cost. If cast on an ally marked with Stargazer, the health penalty does not apply. If multiple allies are marked with Stargazer, Soraka's Astral Infusion spreads to them within a 550 radius and restores 100/120/150/190/230 (+0.7AP) health. Astral Infusion can only be cast on either allies or enemies. Therefore, you can either only steal health or restore it in one use.
[E] - Equinox Cost: 70 Mana Cooldown: 22/20/18/16/14 seconds Creates a zone at target location for 2.0 seconds, dealing 70 (+0.7*AP) magic damage to enemy Champions in the cast radius. Enemy Champions standing in the zone are silenced until they leave. If enemies are already marked with Stargazer when Equinox is cast, instantly root all enemy Champions until the zone disappears.
[R] - Rejuvenating Nebulae Cost: 100/120/150 Mana Cooldown: 140/110/90 seconds After channeling for 1.5 seconds, Soraka casts a field of Nebulae with a radius of 600 at a target location anywhere on the map. Rejuvenating Nebulae lasts for 5 seconds, restoring 70/90/110 (+0.15*AP) health + 3/4/5% max health per second to ally Champions within the zone.
I would love any discussion on these rudimentary ideas on a possible improvement/change to Soraka's current gameplay. The numbers, etc. are only rough figures that I'd hope might solidify her effectiveness as a utility mid-laner/optimal support.
