My question is the title: To a Rioter - Do we know if GP is going to be in the Fighter Roster Update? He seems really divisive and I'd love to seem him pushed to a spot that more people can be happy with and he no longer needs to be nerfed so brutally. Like, wow.

" GP is a great example of hybridity -- in fact, almost all champs are to some degree.
The fluidity of GP's barrel chaining and fairly front loaded power of his R push him toward Battle Mage in my eyes. He rapidly creates a situation where he can project threat onto the opponent team from fairly substantial range.
Imagine a hypothetical GP who really had to set up barrel "traps" in advance... much more of a disruptor playstyle. Imagine a GP who was much more focused on passive procs (e.g., barrel explosions deal less damage cover opponents in tar, slowing them and causing them to take double damage from fire)... much more of a skirmisher. "

Stattik, however, did agree with me, which is why GP is listed as a Battlemage + Skirmisher hybrid.

Yes I read your comment there also ;P BUT I guess what I'm getting at is that they were toying with new ideas, like the whole 'coated in tar' thing. There are options on the table for our unique, special snowflake Pirate.

I know how I play him, at least, he becomes a fighter - dealing large globs of damage over sustained fights.
