What is this I hear of being able to skip division??
I heard that if you're doing really well in ranked you can skip divisions, does anyone know the details on this?

Sometimes if your MMR is say plat but you got into silver after placements it will skip ranks as you climb.
If your MMR is more than 1 tier higher than your Rank you may be eligible for skipping divisions and/or your series. You can see if you're eligible by checking your profile page over on the right. Normally it will just say "Get 100 LP then win 2/3 (or 3/5) games to advance to the next division"; if you are going to skip a division it will tell you there.
It happens when your MMR is at least a full tier higher than your current ranking. In such a situation, you rise two divisions instead of one.
Its pretty damn hard.. I was gold 2 playing vs plat 5s-3s and wen i got promoted, i only went up to gold 1.. was pretty sad considering i was playing with a bunch of mid-low plats as a gold 2 player. I was on an insanely long hot streak of games since gold 3.. I think i was around 25-3 or something redic..
TL;DR dont count on it.
