Question about the Ahri changes...

Hi, sorry, I know the boards is a little antsy right now about the mage nerfs on the PBE, but I had a quick question about some of the Ahri changes (I haven't had the time to play, let alone update the game yet).

"Q - Orb of Deception REMOVEDNOT SO FAST No longer grants movement speed NEW THREE THREE HIT COMBO If Ahri earns 9 spell hits (max 3 per cast), she gains Essence Theft, causing her next Q cast that lands to restore 3/5/9/18 (at levels 1/6/11/16) health for each enemy hit."

This part. If she "earns" 9 spell hits, she gains her old passive. What in the hell does that even mean? Like her Q has to hit 9 targets, but only a max of 3 per cast? Does this stack between casts?

Thanks, boards.

It's functionally exactly the same as her old passive. Just made into her Q's passive.

Means that she can only gain 3 charges of her passive for every spell cast max. You need to hit 9 enemies for the passive to be ready.

Foxfire, Charm, and spirit rush also grants charges towards this passive.

If you Q and hit 2 targets you have 2 stack. If you Q again and hit 1 target on the way out an 2 on the way back, you now have 5 stacks. If you Q again and hit 5 targets, you now have 8 stacks (since you can only get 3 stacks per Q). If you Q again and hit 2 targets, you'll have the essence thief buff, so the next Q will heal you based on how many targets you hit.
