It would be wonderful if we could opt out of Autofill.
I don't care how much it adds to my queue times. I'd rather wait 20 minutes for a game than be stuck in a game that's making me tilt for 30+. Hell, I'd rather wait an hour for a game than play a shit game I'm stuck autofilling in.
Nearly 100%of players will opt out. Which means the remainder will ALWAYS need to be auto filled. It needs to stay or be removed. Riot does well by only enabling it when queue times get long to begin with
Opting out of autofill wouldn't just increase your queue times. It would increase everybody's queue times. That's why it exists.
What Riot should be doing is incentivizing players to learn multiple roles and find a champion they enjoy in each one so that getting autofilled doesn't mean you'll throw the game.
It will never happen
I've been autofilled even when I had a shield because of shortages. Not enough players.
