like even when i do the flashiest hooks and pull in the carry or save someone just at the right time i never get any honor it's kind of depressing :( i just wanted to know if i am especially unflashy or if this is a recurrent theme
I think it is just easier to be noticed on supports that have AoE CC, heal, or shield.
That doesn't mean you can't improve though nor does it mean Thresh and Naut are bad if timed really clutch. People notice if you save them more than if you feed them kills. That doesn't mean don't feed them kills either.

I'm biased as a support main but whenever I'm playing and there was no cLear shot caller or MVP I honor the support if I'm not it. I like the message at the end that everyone got honored so your whole team gets bonus
Unfortunately, support is a thankless role when you do your job well, and get flamed when you don't (even though we know it's that ADC that over extends). You don't have to get honored after a game to raise your honor level, it helps but it's not necessary. As long as you keep playing to win and don't receive penalties, you will eventually level up your honor.
Everybody understimates the role of support. Everyone knows they are at a disadvantage without a support but they will never admit it. They need to show love.
I would settle for just getting into a good somewhat evenly matched game. I don't care one bit about the honor system.
Tried to play one ranked game earlier and had 5 dodges in champ select in a row because of trolls or people getting champs banned out.
