seriously if we can change them mid-game then it's just annoying to change 4 pages everytime the most gameplay this'll affect is when people will inevitably forget to change their masteries and end up with resolve on viktor
Presets are useless since they are locked obviously.
You need at a bare minimum of 5-6 rune pages to even cover the basics with each main rune (cause editing the rune page each game is annoying as hell, at least this way it shortens the time needing to frantically update your rune specs in the champ select)
Man you've got 5 presets tree one for each path + at least 2 rune pages. If you want to customize more buy rune pages.

agreed its pritty bad whats worse is that we can't get decent BE per game because of that stupid new level 100 shenanigans they pulled
i dont know i think they do it because they are alot easier to change in champ select now, alot less decision making, it will just take a while before we get use to all the runes and be able to quickly determine what to take (imagine making a new mastery page for soraka, i bet you know very clearly you want windspeakers and you know how to get to the bottom of the tree very easily)
my issue is... i much rather make those decisions outside champ select and just quickly browse my collection of pages for that special named page i already know so well and it works with a champion
You must buy conveniance. I would be more upset if we COULDN'T change Rune Pages mid-champ select and had to buy them.
All of this can be simply changed by fixing the level up system. Give BE after each game, and give a lot more BE each level. This is the most simplest fix anyone could have thought of without complete chaning the rune page bollocks.
Runepage purchases are still a pay-to-win mechanic in this current state, and it needs to stop. If I have to grind my ass to get a runepage in order to make the game less stressful, then the game not enjoyable at all. At least, a t the very freaking least make it less grindy so as to be easier to get champions, get runepages for each of them and god forsake play this game as it was intended.
