Shen..champ or chump?

So I've playing league since midway through Season 2 when Shen was considered broken. I've been maining him since the end of Season 2 so I've seen the many nerfs that's he's received since but at this point I'm not sure what to think about him in this current meta. I would say maybe the teleport buff hurt him the most because it took away the main thing that made him a strong and unique pick. Also the removal of Force of Nature, Heart of Gold, Ionic Spark as well as the nerfing of Sunfire Cape and Warmogs didn't help. I don't believe he's unviable but I do believe that many champs can simply run teleport and do his job better and easier than him since they have an ult that can be used for 1v1 dueling purposes. Shen us my favorite champion and I would love to see him played more than he is played currently. Honestly though there are alot of match ups that he excels at. (enemies with no sustain) Aldo I never run teleport anymore since having ignite gives you early kill potential that most enemies never see coming. I guess I'm saying that he can be good if you know what you're doing. The problem I find is that in order to win generally you have to seriously outplay the meta tops. It's hard to say what he needs to come back in line with the meta. I suppose some more health scaling might help(feint scaling off of health would be a start). One major issue I find is that his taunt's hit box is a joke now especially since it's his only real initiation. I believe even just reverting the hit box on it would be a big step in the right direction and would help him out alot. There are times where I completely shut down the enemy top but they still come back and beat me(hello Tryndamere). I believe the buff to his ult's CD helped ALOT but im nkt sure it was enough. Idk maybe I just suck. I'm thinking even if they kept his kit exactly the same but made his ki strike deal true damage maybe even that could work. Idk. That might be too much. If anyone has any thoughts I would love to hear them. Shen is my favorite champ and I think it's been far too long since he's received any real love.
