I realized why I suck at this game...

So I'm trying to get better at league (everyone seems to be), and I just can't seem to...I watch videos, read up, but I seem to not be making any progress. When I get into a game, everything seems to go out the window. I try and try to get better, and I feel like I have improved slightly, but I always seem to lose lane more often than I win. I can't really CS without using abilities, I can't zone very well because I get too scared of the enemy, I look at the map but I don't READ it. I used to flame and get frustrated a lot but now I know I suck and I probably won't get any better.

Then there are days when I wonder why I even care. This game isn't helping me as a person, it's not paying my bills or giving me money. I play this game to have fun, and having to learn how to get good at a game takes the fun out of it because then it feels like a chore, ya know?

So there you have it, I realized why I suck at this game, and I admit, while I do want to be better, when I really think about it, I don't.

I kinda get what you're saying. I used to be so hell bent on wanting to get to "high elo" that I was constantly watching videos, reading about match ups and even logging on as soon as I got home from work. The reality of it hit me one night as I was angry at a losing streak I had late in the evening. I thought to myself, "Why am I putting so much effort and emotions into this game when I could be doing something like learning another language or trade?" I also lost that "fun" factor I had when I first started playing. Every time I played now was more of a win or gtfo kind of attitude. I cut back on my play time and started to put more time into other hobbies and meaningful things that could actually help me in life.

Yeah I've pulled myself out of a HUGE hole recently, and I didn't touch league for 6 months. I got back into WoW and started on that, and at times I wanted to play League, but i knew how it would turn out if I did, and, well, here I am. I got back into it a few days ago and Ive had mostly bad games. I play draft and I get matched against high golds, plats and even a few diamonds. I barely made Silver 5 so I just get rekt mostly.

just don't die farm well try to play with powerspikes and ignore your allies when they flame you only focus on yourself and improving. the games you lose are the ones u can learn the most from. my suggestion, start with your first death and try to see how it was avoidable.

Problem being is that League has no casual player base. Imagine playing in a hockey, baseball or basketball league for fun with some friends and a few strangers; and everytime you miss a shot, miss a catch, or miss a swing your team is telling you youre fuckin garbage and you should never play this game again.

That's the difference. You either win, or you feel like complete shit in League. I've lost tons of baseball and hockey games just to go out with the guys after and have a few beers and wings and have a great time. Losing in League with my friends on skype is somehow 100% more disheartening. You get that silence, no one wants to say anything, hell hardly anyone wants to requeue after; most signoff or just leave to play something else. Its the toxicity of the game and how it's designed. If you feel you're not progressing, or you get outplayed it feels completely personal; especially with the whole team looking to place the blame on someone else.
