Rework trinkets?

Taking late game into consideration and how essential vision is to a teams success, you either can only remove vision or provide it. What if wards could be reworked into an upgrade system much like gangplanks silver serpents? If red trinket removed so many wards, an upgrade could allow for ward placement where you sweep(since most spots sweeped are great warding places for both teams). It would be interesting to see what riot could do with this to help with some vision problems.
