There is a 50% pick rate on Ezreal in Korean Plat and higher
Why? This is an ENORMOUS number, half of the ranked games on high elo in Korea are played with an Ezreal, HALF OF THEM. THAT IS ENORMOUS IF YOU ASK ME.

Because he's very strong?
Because he's a busted champion that usually breaks items and has a unique powercurve. He's VERY difficult to assassinate because of his e and iceborn gauntlet (which gives him armor) and very hard to catch with a bruiser because of the slow guantlet provides.
Hit kit has been in need of a rework for a very long time, but for some reason, Riot doesn't see that a champion who has broken more items than I can count on one hand and the highest winrate build being one that involves not even leveling up an ability until absolutely necessary as healthy.
I assume because they are really good at landing skill shots and his ult is really devastating if you don't know it was coming. I used to play him a lot AP mid lane before they gutted his ult CD because it was a really good way to secure kills. The biggest problem I have now with his ult is that half the time the people I aim at are borderline retarded. I'm not talking like they are trying to juke the ult. I'm talking you have 150 hp and my allies with full hp are right there and you decide to keep farming instead of backing out and b. Or they would have killed my teammate and then randomly decide to stop and farm instead of taking the free kill like a normal person.
Ezreal is a really good flex pick. He just takes some skill to get used to. And believe it or not triforce ezreal is still pretty damn good, it's just a lot harder to play than blue build.
because hes the safest pick. he has long range and he doesn't take that long to do decent damage. 2-3 items and hes online.

Well for one he looks like he came straight out of an Anime which ,as you would imagine, makes him extremely popular in Korea/Japan. Second thing is that they like the playmaking, skillshot reliant champions that are as good as their player is. Thats why the most popular champs are Zed, Yasuo, Ezreal, Lucian etc. To the people saying that its because he is broken I can only say lul, stay bronze pls (just look at worlds, blue Ezreal has 10% win rate).
