How do you lane against a Heimerdinger as a melee champ

My million dollar question is simple how in the heck do I beat a Heimerdinger in lane as a melee champ in top lane? ive tried almost every method ive waited till his mana gets low but then he runs and recalls ive also tried building magic resist from the jump but he still just dominates and lastly ive tried building a lot of damage which works every now and then but that guy is almost impossible to solo as a melee character because I barely get to farm because of his turrets and when I try to kill those I get damaged a lot and ill have to recall id hate to call a character OP but my goodness that guy is a handful can anyone answer this question or give any tips?

  1. Farm under your turret.
  2. practice side stepping the missile projection
  3. wait until your wave is in lane, and try to attack one turret at a time. I believe it's about 5g per turret, so at least you will get some farm.

Best thing to do, is practice farming with your turret, pay attention to how many shots the minions take, and work on the last hitting.

item 3194 ALL of heimers damage is in his missiles. All of which are multiple projectiles of the same spell. Adaptive helm RUINS him, and if you combine it with a tiamat youre not going to worry about him much.

Build a sheen and onehit his turrets. Champions like Irelia Jax Camille shit on Donger's towers.

Irelia is probably the most well known Donger counter, since with sheen her Q oneshots Donger's regular tower at any point of the game, and since its cd is mostly refunded she can use it either to kill another tower, gapclose to Donger, or hit a minion for repositioning.

I am pretty sure OP wants general counters to heimer. Not the counter where you tell him which champ to main.

Try to take out his turrets as he is placing them down. This is huge especially if you can do it during the start of the game when he just starts to place them down. If you can prevent him from getting 3 turrets down or even 2, then he can't hard push to farm.

You dont win lane vs heimer. You try your best to cs under turret and then teamfight while he splits.

This item works against his turret and ult turret rendering them almost useless.

He's vulnerable to champs like trynd who have invincibility spells or irelia who can easily kill turrets

Which melee champs do you play?Depending on who you play you have some neat options. Like for example, I usually play Cho'Gath, Renekton and Sion in top lane, so I have options against Heimer.

As Cho, I can sustain off of his turrets with my passive. As Renekton, I can wait for his stun or dodge it, E in range for a stun combo then E out. Finally as Sion, I can E his turrets far away in positions that he can't benefit from.

In general I find that melee matchups against Heimer depend more on who you play and less on what you build.
