You do realize that most supports can 1 v 1 the ADC early game and win?

Supports play a far larger role than ADC during the laning phase. It is the Blitzcrank hooks and Morgana bindings that gets killed, and it is the Braum shield or Janna tornadoes that saves the carries from being killed.

Perhaps you should try playing ADC without a support next time and see what happens.
