What's everybody's thoughts on Zyra at the moment?
I'm an avid Zyra player in both mid and support, and although she's very off-meta at the moment, I still play her to some success.
Aside from the obvious "Immobile in mid so sucks" are there any finer points that people would like to make about her current situation? I feel that support wise, she's pretty alright, although probably outclassed by stronger meta picks. (Not by much mind you).
is amazing at laying down zone control, and has a substantial amount of CC (she can lay down multiple slows, along with an AoE root and the largest knockup in the game). My main gripe with her is that she's stuck halfway between her plant mage fantasy and that of a more generic burst mage: she started out even farther on the bursty end of the scale, but received significant nerfs, so now she has middling burst damage despite having a burst combo (EQR). I think her plants need to be made a lot more important, even if it comes at the cost of her more standard abilities. Design-wise, I think she's more of a mage who can support (in the same vein as
or
) than a true mage/support hybrid, but I still think having her focus more on her plants would allow her to be better at both roles: her core strength right now is her zoning power, I feel, and more powerful plants means she'd be much better at setting up zones of influence for her allies.
