Updated Pantheon is OP before even release

Edit 1 month after release. Wow He has a 60% winrate high elo, and is getting a double nerf. Looks like once again I was right. GJ Riot. :)

Hey Riot,

I can tell already I will be permabanning Pantheon when he gets released, so I just wanted to put this post in the hopes that someone on your balance team can at least read.


Q - Comet Spear (Q) - 40 Mana - 10/9.5/9/8.5/8s Cooldown

Tap: Deals 75/115/155/195/235 (+100% AD) physical damage to ALL enemies hit. Refunds x% of Comet Spear's cooldown.

Hold: Same physical damage to the first enemy hit, and 50% less to further targets. Deals 155/240/325/410/495 (+200% AD) physical damage to targets below 25% health instead.

Empowered Bonus: Deals an additional [20+13 per lvl (see below)] (+100% AD) physical damage and slows the target by 25% for 2.5 seconds. 20/33/46/59/72/85/98/111/124/136/149/162/175/188/201/214/227/240

This is an AOE spell, whose base damage is too high at every rank, scales very well, and has a refund mechanic. If this were it, it would be fine. BUT Every 2nd cast will be empowered, making this AOE spell do 600 or more damage every 10-12 seconds.


W - Shield Vault (W) - 55 Mana - 13/12/11/10/9s Cooldown

Pantheon dashes to an enemy, dealing 60/80/100/120/140 (+100% AP) physical damage and stunning them for 1 second.

Empowered Bonus: Pantheon's next attack strikes 3 times, dealing a total of 135% physical damage

He gets to keep his stun. This is fine, and the empowered part doesnt matter because that will only ever be used on accident. What is the point of hitting 3 times anyway if it only does 135% damage. Are you expecting an on hit pantheon? With this kit? Come on Riot.


E - Aegis Assault (E) - 80 Mana - 22/20.5/19/17.5/16s Cooldown

Pantheon braces his shield and engages enemies in a chosen direction for 1.5 seconds, becoming IMMUNE to damage from that direction and dealing [100% AD] physical damage over the duration.

The last hit slams with Pantheon's shield, dealing 55/105/155/205/255 (+150% AD) physical damage.

Empowered Bonus: Duration is increased to 2.5 seconds (dealing [167% AD] physical damage over the duration). Pantheon is slowed by up to 50% while moving backwards or sideways.

Damage immunity is TERRIBLE for this game. Everyone complains about it every single time you put it in the game, and they have continued to complain about it ever since. This is ANOTHER terrible design choice, and the entire team (maker and approvers) all need to be fired. :) :) In addition to that, E being maxed second most likely, 55 + 250% ad is a lot of base damage.


R- Grand Starfall (R) - 100 Mana - 180/165/150s Cooldown

Pantheon gathers his strength to leap high into the air, then crashes down as a meteor at the target area a few seconds later. Deals up to 300/500/700 (+50% AP) magic damage to enemies in a line (decreased by up to 50% at the edges of the area).

Pantheon's next ability is empowered.

While this seem innocent enough, the AOE is massive. This is GUARENTEED damage, and 300, 500, 700 is a lot.


So his ult is guaranteed good damage, his AOE q that will follow will probably hit 2 people fleeing from the impact spot. He will W the closest, and then be immune to follow up dmg. 2 autos and then he has another empowered q. In the span of about 2 seconds, pantheon can do about 3000 damage, 1500 of that is instant.

Bruiser? Nah. Just another overtuned assassin.

P.S. Your boards are also bugged btw. Bold and Italicize don't work. I'm sure you will just remove the buttons instead of fix them though.

Edit: Oh and dont forget the extra 300 dmg on the Q if you are low hp!
