Unpopular opinion, but I feel like stormrazor is a trap item

I know it's supposed to be an early game power spike, but I feel like it actually hurts you mid game because you can't really build anymore damage until your third item. The passive isn't very useful if you're constantly attacking in a fight, and just AD + AS isn't super useful without lifesteal or an actual crit% to back it up since Marksmen are squishy.

Games end so early that if you don't build it you never enter a state of relevance, ADC's suck already as it is, not building Stormrazor would be the final nail in the coffin. That's why all the META ADC's don't rely on the crit power curve (Draven doesn't count, he's a different story).

By no means am I saying Stormrazor is a good item, and I'm not disagreeing with the fact that Stormrazor fucks with your build path, but it's actually vital to ADC's right now, and honestly wish they would just revert crit and nerf it, or try reworking it again.

Ashe is a crit adc, gets no damage from storm razors and lost some of her damage with the new IE not giving that 1.5 multiplier anymore. BotRK lacks too much damage versus a stormrazor where the first hit is like a truck vs percentage health damage combined with small base damage makes it weaker then stormrazors and early the life steal is not enough to offset the damage gap. The active item ability might help, but other then that stormrazors outclasses it by far early to mid game

BotRK just has relevance to what is left of the tank meta.

BF Sword into Zeal item is non-viable to me, much better to rush a Blood Thirster then Zeal item now since more sustain and the extra crit does not mean much when its a difference between 30% and 15% crit, since ashe shows the difference in crits best here

IE + Zeal + 100 AD = 180 + (10+30%) = 252 damage with same attack speed and you get like 30% true damage yay (in early game where it does not mean much yet)

BT + Zeal + 100 AD = 180 + (10+15%) = 225 damage which is what like 27 ad less, so yes you got no true damage but low level armor is so low its negligable and the 20% life steal will make a difference in exchanges, Go IE vs BT when you only have a zeal and see how far you get.

new IE is only viable as third or forth item now and for doubling up crit to hit 100% Stormrazors is in no way a trap, the damage and attack speed it gives makes it relative not to mention the speed boost, though Trinity Force could perform those same things more reliably the thing that makes stormrazor strong is its price, make it more expensive and see if it still runs off as a main early game item.

Trinity Force is far superior with health and that nuke on attack that can still stack on top of crit damage as well and yes you can build a nuke ADC if you run Stormrazors and Trinity Force with a Nightfall and Static Shiv, try it if you want, Stormrazors is just cheap for what it does, it is not a trap unless you engage in games that reach full build it is value purchase

If you are constantly attacking in a fight, you probably already won or you are in a very low elo game, because noone can tank modern league damage... Fights are based on "cat and mouse" action, a lot of kiting and poking. Come on, I see full tanks melted in seconds, how is possible that you are attacking non-stop for free and not killing everyone?

saltran12/22/2018, 11:16:23 AM1 votes

It's not a trap even though you are right in majority of your reaons why it sucks later, and the reason why buying it it's still the best choice is because as a crit adc you just not have other starter item that isn't a dogshit build path (BF Sword into Zeal item into IE is non viable since the nerf)

So, buying StormR is and will always be until they rework crit items the way to go for crit adcs without a doubt.

Is it possible for an an adc to proc the crit on every auto if the use Lethal tempo and build a lot attack speed? Otherwise, in the long run it's better to use 2 other cirit items and Infinity Edge...that's 90% crit anyway. Or just get 45% with 1 crit item + IE and then build lethality and more AD. I think

Stormrazor is a trap item AND a bandaid.

You need it to survive early, but you can't use it successfully late.

This is why most crit adcs feel so fucking awful to play right now.

They are changing Infinity Edge so now much better to get 1 crit item, like Rapid Fire Cannon then IE. Here is a Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqEsu1TNBqw
