Qiyana's gameplay is so boring

She just spams whichever Q is the best for the situation. It's a short cooldown and not very difficult to decide which one to use. If you miss it, don't worry its up again in a couple of seconds. If you get someone low, then you can just go for the E-Q combo and instant aim to kill them easy too.

Her entire gameplay revolves around just spamming ranged Q, and if you finally get them low enough, you go for the kill. She never has to be in a risky position to whittle down the enemy. There's just very little decision making in her gameplay and it's just really uninteresting.

Some things that could be done to change it up would be to change the type of attack indicator depending on which element she has. For instance, keep her wall one the same, make the river one like a nami bubble (circle aoe), and make grass like zyra Q. There now she has different choices in how she wants to try to hit her enemies, and for her enemies to play around avoiding being hit. The different elements could even be different cast speeds to change up the timing for hitting opponents. That was just the first thing off the top of my head and probably not optimized, but it's to give an idea of what I mean.

I agree. The champion seems very linear in its playstyle. There little to no diversity in what you could do with her, either in lane or in teamfight. Not to mention that her current playstyle is low risk, high reward. Especially her ultimate, it's just dumb and uncreative.

But I would also say that her design is interesting. Playing around different elements from the SR is a good idea, but the execution of it was poorly implemented in Qiyana's kit.

All 3 Qs are basically the same. They play out the same (all 3 are skillshots that you wanna throw forward) even though their animations look different. and her ult is just plane boring to use and so overloaded with damage and CC, not to mention that BS hitbox when traveling alongside the walls...

The decision making comes in what element you want and can actually reach.

Water is a great for setting up ganks or all-ins.

Earth is good for finishing people off or moving around the jungle.

Grass is good for engaging or escaping.

She needs to think about her positioning constantly so she can actually dash out of range of a skillshot and get the element she needs, or line up an ultimate with the terrain.

Spamming her Q is a great way to run out of mana. You need to not only poke them with your ranged Qs and shove the wave in, but also have enough mana after that to either all-in or roam.

The problem is that while she has a lot of combos, only one of them is very viable in lane (E+river Q, auto, W, Rock Q). You don’t feel like a real playmaker until mid game when you can make the big ultis in river and onto terrain. Speaking as a mastery 7 40k point Qiyana already (yes I know I’m a loser), I can say that while her lane phase is somewhat repetitive, it is strong enough that you can get a lead to open up more playmaking potential in mid game. Late game just hope the enemies line up for an ultimate or you’re useless
