So I have a huge problem with settling on a jungler to climb with! Help!

Hi everyone I've played LoL since season 2, started playing ranked in Season 3 and was Bronze III. At this point I decided it was time to get better. I spam a lot of ranked games as Lee sin and got to gold V and then ended the season on Gold 1. I grew a lot, placed gold in season 4 and 5 and now in season 6 I have placed Silver II and dropped myself to Silver III. I took about a year from the game, played none of Season 5 other than placements. I've been getting into it. I love Lee sin, and Wukong in the jungle. After talking to so many higher rated players I've gotten opinions that have changed who I play and how I play. I feel like all the changes have effected me negatively. Playing meta junglers such as devourer junglers really haven't given me time to master a champion. I've been told time after time again DO NOT PLAY LEE SIN because he is for people that are great at him not decent and etc. I can't help but feel like maybe I should bite the bullet and lose tons of games at the sake of getting good at Lee or just play someone more simple in the jungle. Any suggestions and feedback would be very much appreciated.
