Do we really need adcs in every game?

A lot of people have been complaining about the state of adcs in the game recently and how useless they feel. But honestly what do adcs bring that is unique to their class. Very few offer anything outside of damage and for the longest time they were just there to take towers and neutral objectives. However if other classes in the game can do meaningful amounts of damage while offering utility why do we need an adc?

Throughout the many seasons of league different classes have fallen in and out of favor however one class always found a place in every meta and thats adcs. Especially after the marksmen update where they were seen in just about every role except support (until mf support into zyra). So why is it that when adcs are no longer felt has strong enough to warrant being in every game on both teams such a huge issue as compared to other classes other than that its always been that way?

Ok look. Different day same shit.

If you want something lets hear what it is you want. Don't tell us what you don't want. Tell us which specific alternative you are actually willing to support because the meta where there were adcs is a pretty damn good meta.

That said, you don't actually need an adc if you are lower than plat just saying.

Why do you think you see AD Ahri and Ziggs in bot lane? ADCs are meant to do sustained damage in teamfights. In this damage creeped game teamfights last rarely more than one skill rotation a team. If the damage creep isn't fixed they're either going to massively buff adcs to do comparable damage which opens a whole slew of other balance problems further killing the game or adcs will be extinct.

There's no place for a class thats dependent on items in a game where everything can one combo you 10 minutes into the game.

The short answer? No. The long answer? Hell no. The idea that you need one is just filtering into the idea of an all powerful meta. Do whatever you want (within reason of course), and hope for the best. Just tell people you're doing something different, and don't take it to ranked until you have every mechanic worked out and know for sure it's a good idea. If not, people will scream, cry, and report you for anything they can think of.
