Care to explain why you put fresh accounts in placements in high silver/low gold elo?

Just confused as to why these accounts that have never been in ranked, are 0/3 in placements, dont have a full tier 3 rune page for their role, and are testing out champs for fun in ranked are being put in high silver/low gold elo? especially after going 0/8 or worse the 3 previous placement games. Just had an 41 minute game with a 103 cs ashe, 0/11 had no idea how to play her champ, didnt take R until level 8 or 9 in my game. Thanks rito

Honestly fresh accounts should start low bronze every fucking time. Especially since my gold 4 account got placed bronze 3 this season yet a fresh account with a bronze 5 player is currently in my high silver elo games not knowing what the fuck is going on

I believe they are put into matches at different levels of play to test them against each skill level to see where they fit...

Can't confirm with 100% certainty though.

Regardless, I agree they shouldn't be allowed to ruin games for others.

Because bro clearly people who just started playing are at least as good as 50% of the population. /s

I have hated this for ever. It makes no sense. It's dumb. I would rather have smurfs be stuck playing more games in silver or low gold or w/e if it means no new players get to play in silver games unless they actually have a basic concept of the game. There's nothing like getting to 50% mark on the ladder only to play with a new person almost every game who ruins it for one team or the either.

This is why we need a straight lp system, and your rank depends soley on what percentile of players you are in.

Youd think after losing 3 games in a row with a terrible skill rating at the end of the game that the system would be like "yeah lets put them in like bronze 4 and see how it goes"

Id say game 1 they test em mid bronze to see how they fare, then depending on win/loss + the skill rating they bump em up or down (with the skill as the higher weighted of the two deciding factors). Not be like "ehh maybe they are having bad luck lets test silver 1 again"
