Why is there a sudden surge of MF supports?

I was just playing a few games in lol then all of a sudden I saw an MF support. I was like, "That's unusual, but whatever." I paid no attention to this. Then for the next 2 or 3 games, I had multiple adc's in my team. jinx top, mf bot with ashe support!? Then after I was done in a normal game, i get an email notification on TSM_Dyrus' twitch starting and saw the title "Dyrus - witnessing MF support." Was MF being played as a support in World's? That's the only reason I can think of.

MF support countered SKT's Zyra support and caused SKT to ban MF, though ironically Rox then took Zyra themselves.

But left Faker Orianna.

Edit: MF support was solely done as a counter to Zyra. It is a situational pick if the enemy has Zyra support.

ROX vs SKT had Missfortune support in 2 games and dominated thoroughly.

From what I've been told, Rox won a match against SKT with an MF support, and later in the series SKT actually was banning it away from them.

Rox played MF Support which helped them won 2 games in a row. Now everyone wants to be a Worlds MF Support wannabe.

yup. ROX won 2 games vs SKT with MF support. would suggest banning it so you don't risk having these meta sheep in your games. most people will probably quickly find out how awful it actually is so i wouldn't worry about it being a long time thing.
