Safe Champs and Scaling

I think it is stupid how champs that are safe early, scale into late game strong. While riskier and more active champs scale the same. I think ranged lower cd and safer spells all need to be analyzed for balance (for me all flat scaling would halt at like 13, all rest would have to come from items). I think the game should transition from setting up the back line a lot of the time, to helping and playing around front line killers.

Safe champs like what? Ahri Annie Brand Cassiopeia

But damage is the only defense they have (except stuns/slows and ahri's dash) They have pretty low defense and health. They can't kill you if they're already dead.

Just like a riskier champ has to be good, patient, and smart early. They safe ones would have to be so late. All those champs have good cc as well, to go with there range.

Once that cc is on cooldown, they're extremely vulnerable.

Exactly. But whoever they hit with it is more vulnerable, so use it and position wisely.

damage is a far better defense than cc or shields as by never being behind because you trump everything in damage you never have to go on the defense. Arhi lure and their cc but yea damage is their only defense. annie has damage reduction shield that has no business on a mage you down play the effects of cc on champions that also contribute damage alot if carries all have cc what is the point of tanks and they also nullify the usefulness of fighters they run into too

I think annie deserves the shield because other than her ult, she has very short range for a mage.

While still being ranged and bursty even when people have magic resist. Her old e where it gave armor and magic resist was more fair because it was vulnerable to armor penetration and magic penetration. her being short ranged is already the excuse for giving ehr free q's and shit ton of damage she should get a damage reduction shield that is nothing to scoff at too while shorter ranged champions get less defenses and when they have more are cried at until they get nerfed Jax Taric Tahm Kench Poppy

I dunno which champs u have in mind. But alot of scaling champs Anivia Jayce Veigar Karthus MasterYi Orianna KogMaw Vayne Jinx ... have hardly any safety.

Power Cosmic2 votes

Jinx Anivia Jayce Orianna are plenty safe

KogMaw and Vayne arent typical scalers in that they have steriods and have to get off basic attacks to do dmg

Priority in competitive balance should be teamwork to get someone like MasterYi in position to Ace or safe champs use their tools to help stop him

Ahri is particularly guilty of this.

She does bad? Stays waaaay back and becomes near unpoke-able with passive + pots. Ganked? She ults away. She does good, and gets fed early? Dives in like an Assassin and easily kills your carries, while still getting out with ease.

There is almost no situration where she's inherently at a complete disadvantage, most siturations for her are either low risk, high reward, and those who aren't usually means she's very fed.

No wonder she's been top-tier for such a ridiculous amount of time.
