Why does no one ever talk about the state of Nocturne?

As a Nocturne main, I find his current state in this game to be extremely lackluster and chaotic, and I find him mostly unrewarding to play as.

Here are some of the current issues with Nocturne:

-One shot, or be one shot

Explanation: His kit doesn't provide for any other itemization, you have to build to one shot, or you get one shot.

-Has no disengage from a teamfight, once you're in, you're in. (unless you flash and get out by sheer luck).

Explanation: His ultimate can only be used as an engage. Nearly all assassin champion's excluding Nocturne have a method and form of dash that allow them to quickly enter a fight, and exit a fight. ( ZedAhriAkali Evelynn Ekko Talon Shaco Rengar )

-his only engage and dash is his Ultimate, which has a long cooldown

Explanation: Almost all assassins have a form of engage that is not ult reliant, meaning that they can fight consistently with enemy champions and move in and out of fights. Nocturne is unable to do so, once he ult's in, if he does manage to pull away, there's no way for him to enter back into a fight without the threat of being kited.( ZedAhriAkali Evelynn Ekko Talon Shaco Rengar )

-Has no way to counter other champions, but there are a massive amount of champions that counter him

Explanation: While Nocturne's only ability to counter other champions is to one shot them, there are a massive amount of champions that counter him. Here is the list. (Ahri Ekko Elise Evelynn Bard Fiora Fizz Irelia Janna Kaisa Lulu Lissandra Leblanc Olaf Shaco Vayne Xayah Soraka Zed TahmKench Rakan etc.) There a lot of other counters for Nocturne, and of course there are methods of outplaying some of these players, which I do consistently, but against a good player who understands the mechanics of Nocturne and who understands timing, they will be able to counter anything that a Nocturne can do. Aside from champions, all you need to counter him as an ADC is Death's Dance.

I find it kind of sad that a champion such as Nocturne, who has such a cool concept behind him, is often heavily forgotten because of how useless and poor his kit is. It is extremely outdated and can't do much against a player and team using their head.

The issue is that once you ult in (with your only method of engage), you have no viable disengage, meaning you are prone to heavy amounts of CC immediately upon contact, sure your W can take one out of play, but there is always more than one source of CC in a team composition. On top of this, he has no viable engage for the next 60 seconds until his ultimate comes off of cooldown.

I am stuck with countless games on my Match History resulting in losses, when I believe my stats and game impact is well above average, though it is still extremely limited as a Nocturne main, and I can only do so much, when there are so many counters. So here's a link to my Rework Concept, of what I feel would make Nocturne a better champion: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/skin-champion-concepts/BbmkV8kG-nocturne-in-depth-rework-concept

If anyone wants me to explain anything about Nocturne, and why I believe one thing is a specific counter, or want my input on how something might work related to Nocturne, please message me and I would be happy to respond.

I really agree with you. I have played him only on autofill with successful rate but once he goes in he does not have means of escape.

You can shield Vayne's condem are you sure she counters him?

you either predict it or have to cast it with inhuman reactions. She shield duration is really short

Her condemn have a distinguished sound when she casts it, if you fimiliare with the sound you can easily react to it, try to practicing it with your friend you will see that it really easy

Although I can predict it, I gave nearly all champions with high mobility and a short range dash with invisibility that counter role, because when she ults and rolls, I don't know where she goes, and at that point I'm countered, as she is far more mobile and can kite me

Probably because his winrate is a flat 50% in D+ and 52% globally.

He really isn't as terrible as mains make him sound, and probably just needs a small update like Cait. I feel like his Q and E could use some work and the rest of his kit is fine. The problem is he will always be similar to Rengar if he keeps his ult and such and they will rotate for who is better.

The solution to getting out is the same as last season though under a different name. Phase rush allows you to go in, 1 shot and get out. Add celerity, and hitting your q just before your ult hits and it's all good. Nocturne is also a very strong duelist, with few junglers being able to take him 1v1. He's my go to in the jungle, has been since I started as he was my 1st owned champ, and there are so many way to build him he can be very versatile.
