Why is hecarim eating so much dirt right now

His winrates and play rates are abysmal. I never really saw him as a bad champion. Did they gut him somehow, or is he just so unfavorable in this meta compared to literally anyone else top/jg?

Hecarim mains, give me some insight here. I want to start playing the guy more, but I don't know if its worth putting up with any frustrations he's dealing with at the moment.

he's trash. he relies on building incremental advantages. those don't matter anymore. it's either snowball off 1 kill or have super strong teamfight; he can snowball but he's not super snowbally, he can teamfight well but he isn't the greatest teamfighter.

I don't play Hecarim much, but from what I've gathered from similar threads in the last few months, he's not much of a blowout champion. He exerts pressure over time, shoving lanes, roaming well, and so on, but with death timers and lane pressure being what they are today, the strongest champions can either obliterate their lanes (Lucian, Lux) or ruin lives in a pivotal teamfight (Kog'Maw, Lux), and Hecarim doesn't excel at either of those things.

tl;dr Hecarim is a generalist in a meta that favors specialists.

Frankly, he's bad because people don't know how to play him. As a Hecarim main I can assure you he is not weak.

I've been maining Hecarim since his release in S2, this is pretty much the worst he's ever been since then, not even the S3 nerfs hit him as hard as the latest ones. It's specially sad because i used him in the jungle but he's just as bad there as he is top lane, gutting his passive was a piss poor balance decision from Riot.

At least the win rate drop was extreme enough to warrant Riot's attention, but looking at the "buffs" he got in the upcoming patch it doesnt seem like they care enough to actually balance him and make him feel like he's not godawful.

They just need to buff hecarim's passive, fix some bugs, and hecarim would be better

When a pony eats grass, some dirt gets in it. It's normal.

Later on, we make horse jerky
