Better Solution to the Morde Rework

The main problem I see everyone having with the Mordekaiser Rework is that it is a heavy nerf to his old damage (early on where he did well at pushing lanes and getting kills) and completely changes his main identity as a split pushing MAGE in a solo lane. If Riot really wanted to try with the whole "break the meta" approach they could have easily designed a new champion with most of new Morde's kit and left him close to the same as he is now. Almost all of the W is changed and could fit into a new "bruiser champ" aswell as the new Dragon Control on ult. His new Q is also brand new compared to the old one and could have been put into a brand new champion. The E could have potentially been anything else to not clash with "Live Morde" and had some sort of Displacement on it or on an Ult in order to make getting the Q hits easier. Another possibility is actually making him do Physical Damage on his abilities if this were an option that way they have access to Black Cleaver (which would have had perfect stats for PBE Morde.....if only he did Physical Damage to benefit from the Armor Shred).

The whole point of this suggestion is to basically make the new champion (which PBE Mordekaiser basically is) without completely backhanding all previous players of the champion since there would not be any. Honestly I like the idea of trying to break the meta and throw melees into bot lane if they can thrive HOWEVER that does not justify reworking a champion out of the blue and giving people ONE PBE cycle to prepare for it to hit live. People can say the Sion Rework was only on PBE for one cycle and did great once it hit live. The difference between these two is Sion turned into a completely different champion and playstyle and they embraced that and changed numbers and abilities accordingly while Mordekaiser is still trying to be old Mordekaiser but being forced into a lane he never particularly thrived in and basically hoping for the best.

There could have been so many more options if this was treated as a new champion and not trying to hold onto something that doesn't fit or meld well. I just think they could have done so much more if they went headfirst and did a complete overhaul or new champion to try out the whole "melee bot lane thing". It has so much potential but the current PBE rendition of Morde just won't do so well without a CC heavy support like Leona or Naut.

So basically what you're saying is the best way to fix the Morde rework is to scrap it altogether and apply the concepts driving it to a new champion?

I heartily approve!
