Was playing a normal match right now and a teamfight broke out. I barely lived and made a break for it, as I knew I would have died if I stayed. I was Sona with Mobi boots and around 390+ ap, which means with E on I had around 550 movespeed (did quick math, not exact, but it's 13%base ms+15% from ap). She still caught up to me and finished me off. Much salt.

Instead they think she's fine with 4 dashes and a blink(flash) a shield that scales insanely well off AD along with a stun that also scales off ad and a mega ad steroid that also gives range + a ranged AoE nuke.
I remember reading on GD when she had her hp per/5 lowered they went into a rage frenzy
redniwediS5 votesAs a Garen main I find this absurd. Most threads about Riven don't actually contain facts beyond "she does lots of damage and is super tanky with high cc". Most high DPS champions get out of hand if you don't counter them, so that's exactly what you do. Just keep in mind you don't always have to counterpick to counter.

I'm not complaining about her damage at all, she's an assassin/fighter(?), so she should be able to kill squishy things.

That still doesn't make sense, rewarding building glass cannon with durability. No shield should scale off attack damage. Even ability power makes more sense that. Shouldn't it scale off HP to promote off-builds, instead of forcing Riven players to build one particular way?

She gets 3 dashes into one skill that's fine, but why is there also an AoE knockup added into it? Why does she need that along with 3 dashes? She gets a AoE stun that scales off AD that's fine, but why does it need to be AoE if she already has a knockup into her Q? She gets a shield that scales off AD that's fine, but why does she also get a dash with it when she already has THREE dashes into her Q? She gets an insanely good AD steroid with a little range increase that's fine, but why does she also get an AoE execute with it?
All of her skills are overloaded individually but as a whole it gives her everything. The only thing Riven doesn't have is mixed damage..in which who needs that when you can get lw/yomumu and shred tanks in a few hits

This never happens. It's weird how every Riven complaint thread has a jab against the Riven Main Illuminati who will apparently inevitably flood the thread with their rage, but they never show up.

With that said, the fact that she does not need to manage any resource other than time, which can be reduced by CDR (and ranking her E also lowers the cooldown) her mobility is a little broken. The only way to really change this without completely changing her kit would be to add a resource.

That's what I mean, though.
I wouldn't mind if she actually had cooldowns, since she has no resource. Could you imagine if Garen had her cooldowns?
redniwediS1 votesGaren isn't really a good example. Riven is a fighter/assassin where as Garen is a fighter/tank, they have completely different playstyles even if they share a lack of resource. I think a better question to ask would be to imagine someone with cooldowns like she has with no resource. I'm sure there's someone out there who fits that bill.
