This hurts my eyes. I had no idea it was such a high cost heal! Couple that with a horrible base mana regeneration (a stat that got a hard nerf at the beginning of the season) and... well... Poor guy...

Yeah, 140 mana is pretty outrageous no doubt, but at least the base heal is pretty good (max rank is 440(+.60%ap)(+10%bonus health) if you heal yourself and an ally)
On the bright side it's not that bad of a heal in the early ranks.
60(+30%AP)(+5% bonus health) for 60 mana is decent; compared to Sona's 30(+20%AP) for 80 mana rank 1.
junglerboy163 votesyeah, the mana cost was definitely high, but it is also one of if not the strongest heal in the whole game (especially considering that it always heals Taric as well)
terkmc1 votesAnd Taric builds alot of mana as well, since item that builds out Glacial Shroud gives him everything he needs, armor and cdr, like Frozen Heart and IBG (also adds more cc, he proc this constantly thanks to passive)
Apollocliptic1 votesYeah, I usually go righteous glory and FH if i can, and if I am not the only tank, I can drop an ICG instead, for the chase and constant slows, since otherwise his only cc is a very short duration stun.
As Taric I standardly have like 24K in heals, even I was shocked when I first noticed how high that was, my nami wasn't even close!, and I often heal more than enemies do damage. I even like to jump ahead of minions to take a tower, healing myself to extend the push, then healing minions so they tank they tower longer while simultaneously healing recovering my own damaged hp
Partholonian1 votesActually, I think Taric's base mana regen may have gotten buffed in the overall mana changes. Because IIRC it was really terrible before, and now it's not that much worse than anyone else's (if at all).
Mana users in general are in a worse place (which somewhat cancels out against other mana users, but not everyone is...) especially since it's so much harder to fix a mana regen problem with items now, but Taric is less worse than average.

That new Meditation mastery may be pretty good on him, seeing as he builds a ton of mana (Frozen Heart, Iceborn Gauntlet, Righteous Glory, etc.)

Nah, I'd say he needs it. I do agree that people think he can only support (he can Top and even Jungle in the right hands), but his kit is pretty outdated.
I'm sure Riot will be sure to try to keep his 'core identity' as the Paladin of League. I just hope he keeps his healing.
But yeah the rework is happening.

Machaggis1 votesAlot of his strength is his survivability. Between passive armor gains from his W and how strong his heal is on himself. I think he might be a better top laner then support but he suffers from mordes problem decent kit but no movement to speak of. Any buffs are welcome in this case. But would it hurt for his R to buff his speed a bit.

Let's see at level 18 his abilities have 6 (w) and 8.4 (Q+E) seconds cooldown at 40% CDR So if then you can W + AA + E + AA + W + AA + Q + AA (Then you will have to wait a little 1-2 seconds for W/E to come of cooldown possibly oh and doing this would lower the cooldown of ult if it was on cooldown by 8 seconds and it only has 45 seconds cooldown to being with at 40% CDR)
