Can Sona at least gain back half of her %missing health ratio on W?

Imo Sona could use a mini-rework, as she still has some glaring problems regarding champion interaction and kit flow, but I understand that a lot more champions are on higher priority and really need help (Warwick, Poppy, Taric, Yorick, etc.). Something that would greatly help her out for now, however, would be to return the %missing health scaling on her W.

The whole point of the rework was to make her abilities have impact instead of just stance dancing for stats, yet I feel her W isn't as potent as is should be for protecting your carries especially in the late game.

If you can't return it to her heal, what if you put it on her shield instead? Have her shield strength increase by 1% for every 2% missing.

I have lots of ideas that would help her both game-health and balance-wise, but for right now I just recommend this.

Well... what exactly is Sona supposed to be? If she's meant to be a poke based support, her damage is less than stellar. If she's meant to be a healer, her aid is less than several champions with self sustain.

Her heal and shield aren't good until rank 4/5 with a truckload of AP. I know she's not supposed to excel at too many things at once, but at least make it more satisfying to use. It never feels good to use until near the end of a game.

I think her W is where a lot of attention needs to be focused. I don't want her to be overpowered, but as it is her heal is SUPER expensive in the early game, but it offers so very very little. As someone else pointed out 30-35 hp heal (times two i guess) for 80 mana is just super pitiful when your trying to keep your ally up or heal a bit from getting poked. Look at Taric for a moment, same basic idea a heal that goes to an ally and you, but his costs 20 mana less at level 1 and heals for twice as much. Now i might not even have an issue with this if the shield you gave lasted longer. 1.5 seconds is pitifully short. Often it falls off before it would even block any enemy damage. I suggest doubling the length of the shield, 3 seconds is still shorter then most (if not all) other abilities shields in the game. As well as lowering the rank 1 mana cost by 20. I'd very much like to avoid spending 1/5-1/3 of my mana per time i throw out a heal.

On a different note, has anyone else gotten an issue where Sona seems to much slower then other champions despite having much more movement speed? Maybe i'm just imagining things but it often seems like if an enemy champion has 350 movement speed to my 34, they can run me down in less then the distance between tier 1 towers. But when i try to run someone else down, i can have a movement speed of 450 to their 380, and i still have to pop my movement speed boost to catch up. Even then it takes me most of a lane to do so.

This sounds nice, and would be just what she needs. Maybe restore her 50 per rank damage Q as well. It's abysmal on her right now considering how people mainly use tanky supports that can keep their ADC safe and suck up poke these days.

With the build I use, a defenseless AP Sona at start, always begins to shine at mid-game. Her [W] healing becomes so good that defense runes and masteries seem unnecessary. Buying Sheen earlier speeds this up. Sheen teachs enemy to stay away from Sona more and the, err, 'placebo effect' is greatly in Sona's favor. Early Sheen is good but you sacrifice sociological oppression to buy wards early :p

What you ask may be reasonable but if tested may prove unnecessary.

I've been playing Sona alot on the PBE. I don't think she has any glaring problems.IMO she's a very easy support to play and get into so it's ok if her 1 damage ability can't destroy everyone, her AOE heal doesn't revive an army and her MS isn't Uydr status.

I'm not saying that she shouldn't be buffed but does she really need to be?

Like I said, I've been playing hero n the PBE for the past week and looking to buy her one live because I have yet to lose a game as her. So far the worse game I had was when a guy raged and I meet him again a few games later as my support Sona and he consonantly ganked bot as Devour Yi because of how good I was with her before we he was laning against me. The only time i really did anything to hurt us was when he'd dive the enemy bot killing them he'd try to catch us out as we recalled, sometimes even getting himself killed so, yeah.

I don't think she needs even more power because then she'd just be another Annie.

I don't think her q is the problem with her kit, Her passive is a "pick your stat boost" which is pretty non interactive and gives her a lot of tools. I would be fine keeping her q auto-targeted if she got a new passive in some form.
