Ranking from other queues should bleed into the other ranked queue's matchmaking

Just fought a team of Masters and Diamond soloq players, when my team was all silvers in a 3v3 queue. Why is it that your ranking for other queues has no effect on where you're placed in other game modes? I sincerely doubt that as a silver player, I will have any chance against anyone literally 3 tiers higher than me. Am I supposed to feel good that I got wrecked against a Masters player and two diamonds? It makes no sense to have pitted two teams against each other, whose players have a vast skill gap compared to one another.
