Honest Fiora discussion

I feel like enough time has passed with this recent Fiora rework to truly get a grasp of her new playstyle etc. and it is extremely broken and anti-fun; I'd rather go against an old school proxy Singed as a half dead Teemo with no W and 5000 ping. Very little of her kit thematically makes sense, I understand the ability to dodge and parry, and being nimble makes sense, why in gods name can she block/counter attack something like a karthus ult or lux beam?

Her cooldowns as is are too low, her Q gives her insane mobility and chase potential, while her W gives her a cool .75 secs of invulnerability (and depending on the situation a stun) her E does a very large chunk of her damage and the slow was overkill. However the thing that wraps it all up is the nonsensical nature of her ult, she outclasses darius easily on her ult in true damage, while having a team heal that's more potent than a janna ult unless said janna is stacking major AP, what duelist heals their team, is she a paladin now? Did she gain holy powers? Her kit is too strong, and there's no real counter play, she has excellent mobility, very high damage with added true damage and a passive that heals her, an ult that heals far more than it should while dealing massive true damage and a very hard hitting 2-prong attack that slows. I feel this rework gave her far too many strengths at the cost of little to no weaknesses.

the only way fiora does more true damage than darius ult is if the enemy does absolutly nothing and stays still while she runs circles around them. which takes a good 2-3 seconds. compared to darius insta ult. fiora has to do so much to actually pull of a good ultimate the aoe heal is needed lest she dies in the teamfights every single time. not to mention her god awful laneing against her counters. if you get a top heimi you might as well go mid or something.

Let's get a few things straightened out. TIPS TO BEAT NEW FIORA:

I think the amount of time that the new Fiora has been on live is a testament to those who are playing against her too. Fiora's victory relies on an equal participation of her opponent, keep in mind. It's not that Fiora just has the ability to out play any champion, its that any champion has the ability to outplay fiora.

Fiora is not an offensive champion by any means. I think some time has passed and people have figured out what kind of champions can duel the duelist. Melee bruisers with unpredictable kits hurt her a lot early game. Olaf, Renekton, Nasus, Shyvana and Jarvan bring an equal amount of damage and resiliency to punish Fiora players who like to Q passive early.

Her Q by contrast is her bread and butter ability. Having it on a low cool down is necessary, especially late game to pull off her difficult mini game ultimate. her W is probably her most frustrating ability to play against, but consider the following:

It has over a 20 second cool down throughout the entire game. It is the only thing that can decisively keep her alive in a fight. It can be easily baited like old Fiora's Riposte, but this time, that can mean her utter death. It works better AGAINST champions with hard CC overloaded kits.

Fiora appears to be designed to fight against poke casters or hard CC tanks like Sion. But keep in mind that while a Sion can be at worst, stunned by his own Q, his Q goes off cool down much sooner than her riposte the next time you wish to trade with her. You may also choose to activate his Q faster if you sense her parry, to avoid the stun on yourself, effectively crippling her Riposte's effectiveness.

While it's true Fiora can parry executes like Garen's ultimate. Consider your options. Rather than charging in on a low health target, as you usually do as Garen, attempt to bait out her parry. Even silencing before hand (like you should in this situation) can make all the difference in killing her.

High mobility and repositioning champions can take advantage of denying her passive. Keep in mind that even if you do not have high mobility, if you don't like the position of her passive marking your champion, you simply need to walk out of sight range and reset it until you get the desired mark for when you want to farm, trade etc.

In the event that she has marked your facing side, moving towards her while she Q's can deny her bonus damage and escape speed, giving you enough time to out damage her before she can reposition. Its simply a technique that you, the opponent need to master.

Fiora is your dancing partner. you simply need to learn the steps along with her while laning.

there are so many abilites in this game that can dodge karthus or lux ult.

you can even get that in item form. item 3157

look at it like this. her w is a purely defensive move, that has to be used in reaction. while it can block certain things like summoner spells or other abilities without casting time or animation, youd have to be outright psychic to do that on purpose.

its what allows her to be squishy in melee and still be effective. the duration lasts .75 seconds and is not difficult to bait out.

fizz trollpole is much worse in that regard. not only allows it to dodge abilities, but also reposition twice and deals a lot of aoe damage upon impact.

its personal and doesnt block abilites the way windwall does. honestly i thought riposte would be the least ability in her kit thats complained about.

Like other posters have said, I find it extremely unfair that she doesn't even have to AIM it, her W is basically a zhonya's that doesn't last as long, but you're able to move while it's used and you can slow/stun the target. You used your riposte to stop a leona ult coming at you from the front, it just so happens an ashe ult collides with your back while riposting the leona ult; but it's K cause everyone knows when you riposte it actually puts an invisible kayle ult on you then poppy ults the shopkeeper so you can't be cc'd. Dat logic doe.

Her ult does not provide peel for her carries and she can't always control where the circle pops up.

But she is pretty ridiculous right now.

I don't entirely agree with much of what is stated, Fiora is a duelist, a duelist should excel in 1v1 situations, and while being viable shouldn't be able to tear apart the team at the rate she does. Frozen mallet has gotten fairly standard on Fiora, along side other items which have health on them (TF, SV, Etc) the end product becomes a high health bruiser instead of a finesse focused duelist. Bursting down a Fiora with 3k health while your teams are clashing AND she's tearing apart your carry is a touch difficult for most to muster, added to the fact that it's a massive AOE heal for the rest of her team that one ult is enough to forgive grave mistakes by her team.

She can block everything except for turret shots, that includes, zed ult, vlad ult, nasus whither, and ignite. The stupid thing is she doesnt even have to aim her parry to due so... If they made her parry direction i'd be much happier with it but why should she get away if I throw a cc and she just presses w. It's like a preventive cleanse.
